John P. Dolan, formerly of Maplewood, died on Feb. 11 at home. He was 70. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Dolan lived in Maplewood for 32 years before moving to Vernon Township in 2000. He served in the U.S. Army 24th Engineer Battalion before beginning a career as a securities trader. He worked for William Frankel & Co. and Herzog, Heine, Geduld, Inc., in New York and was a member and former director of the Security Traders Association of New York before retiring from Wall Street in 1995. Dolan enjoyed sports and had been a member and president of the Maplewood Country Club, and a member of the N.J. Saltwater Fly Fishing Association. He also served on several fishing and ecology commitees in Vernon.
