Maplewood resident Rachel Rothman Receives Award for Excellence in Jewish Education
Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel has announced Maplewood resident Rachel Rothman, head teacher and seventh grade team leader at the Linda & Rudy Slucker Religious School at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI), has been named a 2012 recipient of the prestigious Hoffman/Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. The award recognises outstanding Jewish classroom educators.
Ms. Rothman will be honored by the Temple, as well as PJLL annual Teacher’s Learning Conference, in January.
Based in South Orange, New Jersey, Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel is a Reform congregation that welcomes all who wish to participate in and celebrate Jewish life and traditions. The temple draws members from many towns including South Orange, Maplewood, Short Hills, Millburn, Livingston and West Orange. It is recognized throughout the region for its innovative programs, worship services, community events, and groups dedicated to a wide array of religious, social and educational interests.
