Maplewood Woman Named One of "25 Influential Black Women in Business"

  • February 17, 2011

Maplewood's own Linda M. Gadsby, Esq., Vice President & Deputy General Counsel of Scholastic Inc., has been named by The Network Journal (TNJ) as one of 2011's “25 Influential Black Women in Business.”

The 25 honorees will be featured in the March issue of the magazine. In addition, TNJ will honor these movers and shakers during Women’s History Month at its 13th Anniversary Luncheon on March 24 at the renowned New York Marriott Marquis Hotel, located at 1535 Broadway (between 45th & 46th streets) in the business capital of the world, New York City from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“The women we are honoring in the 13th year of these awards span job titles, industries and expertise, but they share the same traits: they all are passionate, driven and focused. They are at the forefront of American leadership and symbolize the diversity and advancement that has occurred across industry lines,” TNJ Publisher and CEO Aziz Gueye Adetimirin said. “We salute them for achieving significant levels of success in their businesses and professional careers and for their myriad contributions to their community.”

As a signature TNJ event that attracts a “Who’s Who” of business executives and decision makers from various industries, the luncheon sells out each year.   This year’s sponsors are L’Oreal USA, Wells Fargo, Entergy, Macy’s, WNYC, and WBLS-FM.
