It is with much sadness that I pass along the news of Sam Whinery's death on Sunday, May 13.  Sam worked for Hammond Map in Maplewood for many years, then Burgdorff Realtors.  Sam was active in the Chamber for over 40 years, serving as President and also receiving the Distinguished Service Award.

I know many of you do not know Sam, but he was an integral part of the Maplewood Community and will be missed by many.  He was a true gentleman.

A memorial service will be held for Sam on Friday, June 8th at 2 p.m. in the Morrow Church sanctuary with refreshments to follow.

Condolences can be sent to his daughter, Carolyn Robbins at 6 Bradford Terrace, New Town Square, PA 19073.  In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in memory of Sam Whinery to the South Mountain YMCA at 13 Jefferson Ave,
Maplewood, NJ 07040.
