What is the Easter Vigil? It is the central celebration of the entire liturgical year! It is the night on which ancient Christians 'kept watch' for the resurrection as marked in the sunrise of Easter morning. Adult converts to the faith were traditionally baptized on this night. This year, in the absence of baptisms, we will emphasize the story of our salvation history through an extended Service of Light and Liturgy of the Word. Then We will then gather around the font to renew our baptismal promises and to be touched by the waters of new life before celebrating the Eucharist with full Easter joy. We invite everyone to join us; it is our primary Easter Mass. Bring a small bell to the liturgy to ring during the singing of the Gloria.
