The Maplewood Township Committee recognized 52 township employees — a group that has served a total of 625 years — at its Dec. 6, 2011 meeting. At the annual township Employee Longevity Recognition event, tenures of services were recognized in 5-year increments, spanning 5 years to 30 years. Positions represented ranged from crossing guards to the chiefs of both the Maplewood Police Department (Robert Cimino at 30 years) and Fire Department (Joseph Richardella, also at 30 years).

The awards were presented by Township Administrator Joseph Manning and Assistant Township Administrator Jean Plantin.
