7-Eleven Comes to Maplewood

Town officials and members of the community participated in the grand opening celebration.

Twenty-four hour shopping has made its way to Maplewood. A new 7-Eleven store, which opened its doors May 17th, celebrated its arrival with a Grand Opening on Saturday, July 17th. Located at 279 Parker Avenue, at the corner of Irvington Ave., the store is on the lot left vacant for some time by an unused gas station.

In attendance at the festivities were several hundred local residents, Mayor Vic DeLuca and Committeeman Jerry Ryan. During the three-hour opening, there were raffle giveaways, clowns, and a ribbon and cake cutting.

"I received lots of positive comments from many people at the opening," said 7-Eleven Public Relations Consultant Maureen Abdelnour. "They were saying how happy they were to have this business in the area." One plus for the community, Abdelnour added, is the fact that the store is a vibrant location for the community that offers the convenience and safety of a 24-hour ATM.
