Last night, the Maplewood Rotary hosted its major fundraiser of the year — Affair of the Heart — at the Woman's Club of Maplewood. The event played out like a who's who of Maplewood, with everyone from the mayor to many business owners and active community volunteers. The robust attendance had something to do with the fact that the event has a great reputation, but it also didn't hurt that the Citizen of the Year honoree was a man who not only does good but is well liked — Tom Kerns, co-founder of the HK Community Fund.

By the end of the evening Kerns ended up on stage playing guitar with Chris Dickson, another relentless local do-gooder.
