After a Whirlwind Weekend, It's a Merry Monday About Town
What in the Dickens did YOU do this weekend?! C'mon, share some seasonal spirit!
The weekend got of to a wonderful start with the a fund raising Friday Soiree at Kari's Cafe. Party Cake Party Cake's Laura Himmelein was on hand to attest to the stellar festivities: "It was a great, fun way to get in from the cold on a Friday. doing good at the same time just made it even warmer," says Himmelein. "And it was really fun to see Kari sing some jazz!"
Santa swang into town Saturday to greet a great crowd of reveling residents awaiting at Dickens Village. (Ah, revel/reval, so0000 close yet sooooo far apart, no?!)
Holiday cookie parties seemed the theme of the weekend, too. While at one gleeful gathering over on Plymouth I had the pleasure of chatting with some fabulous folks including a very svelte Tricia Kenny, who appears to have dropped as many pounds as she has years from her age. Um, SO not fair...!!!!
It was almost enough to keep one from partaking in the delicious assortment of sweet treats, but then you would have missed out on the AMAZING chocolate covered matzah yummie things made by Caryn Emmons. (I'll see if I can post the recipe later today!)
By 9:30am on Sunday No. 165 was JUMPING for a 'Friends & Family' sale complete with serious savings and serious snacks. Shoppers joyfully waiting on line for both the register and the refreshment table which included insanely scrumptious offerrings from the very, very Able Baker. YUM! Thank goodness for jogging...
Prospect Church's Tiffany Boutique wasn't as busy as they'd hoped it would be Sunday afternoon, being that all the proceeds go to those in need and those in need number many... There was hushed buzz about the possibility of opening next weekend during the church's MUCH celebrated Secret Shoppe (more later this week)...organizer Joady Anderson wouldn't confirm, but I'll keep you posted!
