Community Corner

Back in the Swim of Things

Sunning, smiling, swimming and styling, families were out enjoying opening day at the pool.

Saturday, June 18, was opening day at The Maplewood Community Pool. The doors opened at 10 a.m. with the Ganon Family first in line for the third year in a row. A beautiful sun-shiny day awaited as families lined up to be the first ones in the pool.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carson who have been coming to the pool since the second year it opened were among the first to arrive. Mr. Carson also informed me that he was the last to leave on closing day last year!

Some felt like they had never left and could not believe that it was summertime already.

Babies and children frolicked in the "baby" pool. Friends from summers past reunited and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

The snack bar was open for business with people noshing on ice cream, burgers and fries. There is even a "Name the Snack Bar" contest going on.
