The six candidates for Board of Education — incumbents Wayne Eastman and Jennifer Payne-Parrish and newcomers Jeff Bennett, Amy Higer, Madhu Pai and Tia Swanson — answered several questions at the Hilton Neighborhood Association candidates forum on March 15, 2012.

The second question was:

How would you make the school system attractive to incoming potential residents to Maplewood/South Orange families with preschool children? What programs or aspects of the curriculum would you like to infuse into our schools that would differentiate and enhance our school system, as cmpared to nearby towns?
