Stabbing Reported on Oregon St.
Police reports say four persons have been detained at the scene
Maplewood police officers and detectives were on the scene of an apparent stabbing Thursday afternoon on Oregon Street.
According to a neighbor at the scene and to monitored police reports, one person was stabbed. No information was available as to the victim's identity or condition.
According to police communications, medical personnel were called to the scene.
The location, in a residential neighborhood of single family homes about a block east of Springfield Avenue and near the Union border, was cordoned off.
Police communications indicated four persons were detained at the scene. The neighbor who spoke to Patch said she understood one arrest had been made. Maplewood Police Chief Robert Cimino was at the scene but declined comment.
Oregon Street runs from the 1900 block of Springfield Avenue east and then south to Astoria Place, not far from Interstate 78.
