(PHOTOS) CHS Marching Band Racks Up Awards
The band, under the direction of Peter Bauer and Chris Montague, won for Best Music, Best Percussion, and Best Overall.
Proud first-year band parent Vicki Shuster just sent this update to Patch:
The Columbia High School Marching Band, under the direction of Peter Bauer and Chris Montague, won their Division 3 at the Randolph competition on October 22, 2011. They won the categories of Best Music, Best Percussion, and Best Overall. They will be playing again this Saturday at the football game at Underhill field, which starts at 1:00, and will perform at half time. This day is also when they "introduce 8th graders to marching band." If you really like marching bands, there is another competition Saturday afternoon in Basking Ridge. These kids and their very dedicated teachers have a marathon day from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.!
Congratulation to the CHS Marching Band and best of luck on Saturday!
