Coach Cate Pumps Up Clinton Elementary

Coach Cate Dill visited with the students at Clinton Elementary on Friday.

Coach Cate Dill spent Friday, May 27, motivating the students at Clinton Elementary School. Dill is a physical education teacher from Sudbury, Massachusetts whose self-proclaimed mission is to “make America fit, one person at a time.”

Dill, or “Coach Cate” as she is affectionately known, is currently on a cross-country bicycle journey to promote healthy living. She arrived at 9:00 a.m. by bicycle, and according to school officials, was greeted by a rush of students.

“She talked to them about healthy living, healthy food, and maintaining a healthy planet. She exercised with them and she spent the afternoon walking and dancing with them during their annual Locomania event, which also promotes healthy living,” said Cecelia Cancellaro, the VP of Public Relations for the school's PTA.

Clinton phys. ed. Teacher Jordyn Freede wrote Coach Cate a letter, inviting her to Clinton. Freede and her fellow physical education teachers Jeff Lehman and Ria Favia were thrilled to host Coach Cate at the school.

In honor of the visit, the Clinton PTA bought two bicycles to be raffled off during the Locomania event. Teague Moss was the lucky winner in the K-2nd grade group and Isobel Weir won the bike in the 3rd-5th grade group.
