Cooks for Books! Restaurants Raise Funds for Maplewood Library

The SHOW YOUR CARD, SHOW YOUR SUPPORT library fundraiser runs through Saturday, October 23

 

As the summer lemonade stand fundraising season poured out its last cup, it became abundantly clear to the fundraising committee of the Maplewood Memorial Library that it was time to find a new way to squeeze out some extra dollars to support library programs and purchase materials.

And, boy, did they cook something up.

Replacing the summer grassroots lemonade stand fundraiser is SHOW YOUR CARD, SHOW YOUR SUPPORT, a library fundraiser in which participating restaurants and eateries around Maplewood are either donating a portion of the bill from those who show their cards, are donating a flat fee, or are putting out collection jars for the library.

The fundraiser started on Sunday, October 17, and runs through Saturday, October 23. Writes Carol Buchanan of the library fundraising committee, "We hope you will eat out as much as possible at the participating restaurants. Look for the donation containers and mention this project or show your library card at the restaurant.  Enjoy!"

Maplewood Village

Millburn Avenue

Ridgewood Road

Valley Street
