Springfield Abloom with New Looks and Super Scents

Always Endless Possibilities gets a face lift and Kari's Cafe keeps the Avenue scrumptious.

Nancy, the owner of Always Endless Possibilities, made the most of the unseasonably warm weather to whisk away her temporary awnings. "I can't wait," she said. "It's going to look great!"

Make sure to swing by tomorrow when the exterior will match the stylish offerings this Springfield newbie is serving up inside.

Kari's Café couldn't ask for a better business calling card than the intoxicatingly delicious scent of sugar cookies wafting from its open doors this afternoon. Turns out Julie Pauly, The Able Baker, was baking up a sugary arsenal of bewitchingly good cookies for Halloween.

Maplewoodians Take a Day Off From School in Style!

Cute kids, a crazy coif and a cuddly pup made for a perfect day About Town.

There were as many Maplewoodians at The Turtle Back Zoo Monday as there were fancy new exhibits. Doreen Chila-Jones, there with her three adorable kids, joked about how shabby the attractions were when they first started visiting the zoo nearly a decade ago. (I remember, too—you half expected the animals to clock out for cigarette breaks between showings…)

Well, not anymore! The place is a brimming with beautiful new exhibits, including a great new aquarium, where we found Nemo just clown fishing around...

Who says soccer moms can't kick back in style?

Jessica Ganjon was rocking some truly terrific tresses at Milo S. Borden and setting some seriously stellar standards for cutting edge 'soccer moms' (and dads) on all SoMa sports fields. Gawkers of all ages did double takes on her head-turning do. Some little ones were a bit wigged out until they realized it was, indeed, a wig.

The Jones family was also seen in soccer mode with the newest member of their family, Molly, whose golden curls gave Blank a run for the best-tressed title in Borden Park.

I hope we'll see equally fetching locks and frocks at Maplewood's Halloween Parade and costume contest this Friday, Oct. 29 in the Village from 3 to 5 PM—featuring special musical guest, Starfish! Even better?! Far from frightful, the weather forecast looks perfect!
