Denco Gas Station in Maplewood Opens Saturday 3 p.m.
Odd number plates only; gas containers allowed too.
The Denco Gas Station on Springfield Avenue at the corner of Laurel Avenue (across from Dunkin Donuts) will open today, Saturday Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. for gas, according to Mayor Vic DeLuca.
Cars with odd-numbered plates ONLY are allowed to fill up today, according to the gas rationing system. Those with gas canisters also are allowed.
"Police will monitor traffic and watch the line of cars," said DeLuca. "We expect hundreds."
The station is on the corner of Springfield, Laurel and Millburn Avenues.

I was at Denco yesterday, around 4.30 - IN THE PUMP AREA - next in line. Suddenly there were FIVE police cars, and we were ALL forced to leave. One officer told us to park in the Labco lot, and they would tell us when they were ready to serve us (they already were - as far as I could tell). Another was telling people there was NO GAS. WTF? what was going on? Anybody else see this?

They did the same thing to me on Friday - I was 2nd to get in the driveway & they made me leave & filled Maplewood & Union Police cars etc. Funny thing is I was trying to get gas for a 92 yr old person who I gave my generator to since I had power & they didn't want to hear it. Can you believe it?

Cop at station just said there would be nothing there tomorrow, and that he had idea where "evens" could go.

Jesse: Denco is open today, Sunday Nov. 4 for even numbered license plates. I have heard anecdotally that lines are long.
