Editor's Notebook: Week in Review

A week of sports, food, arrests, test results, benefit concerts and more.

The week started off with pictures of the Elks Pig Roast and Ben Salmon looking at recipes for coconuts. We also looked at how Maplewood, South Orange and other Essex County municipalities are sharing services.

On Tuesday, we reported on the achievement gap between black and white students on the NJASK standardized test. Brooke Lefferts gave us a look into her car. And Maplewood police arrested two Township brothers on marijuana charges.

On Wednesday, Jose Ortiz posted a video and a story about Columbia's thus far undefeated gymnastic squad. Assemblyman John McKeon gave out reusable bags at area stores.

Springfield Ave. mixed use building Yale Street Commons got its first commercial tenant. The Cougar volleyball team  scored a win while Columbia's tennis squad was eliminated from the Essex County Tennis Tournament.

On Friday we reported on Rent Parties, a new monthly benefit concert series. And we posted two videos of this week's Green Drinks event.

On Saturday, the Cougar Football team continued their winning streak. Congrats, guys!
