Elmwood Sweet Shop Hit Again by Gunman
Police seeking information to find suspect who snatched cash from shop.
A gunman snatched cash from the Elmwood Sweet Shop on Thursday morning, Maplewood police said, before running off on foot.
The store, at the intersection of Elmwood, Orchard and Boyden, sells a variety of goods, from cigarettes and lotto tickets to newspapers and sundries.
This is the that the shop has been robbed at gunpoint. Last July, two men showed a gun before taking cash from the register, according to police reports.

During Thursday’s robbery, Lt. John Perna said a male in his mid to late 20s entered the sweet shop around 9 a.m., produced a handgun and demanded cash from the shop attendant. The suspect made off with the money on foot. No car was observed.
No one was reported injured in either of the robberies.

Police described Thursday’s suspect as a black male, wearing a knit cap, gray jacket and blue jeans, 5'7" to 5'8" tall with a tight beard.
