The new 7-Eleven on Springfield Avenue was playing Santa on Saturday (a bit past the season!) as the owners gave away a 32" television, 5-lb. chocolate bars, gift bags, gift certificates, video games and more at the grand-opening ceremony on Jan. 14.
Franchise owners Ray and Devan Ghetia were offering free lunch to the public, and Mayor Vic DeLuca, Deputy Mayor Kathy Leventhal and Commiteepersons Jerry Ryan, Marlon K. Brownlee and India Larrier showed up to cut the ribbon — and perhaps enjoy some free food and drink. The fun was rounded out by face painting, clowns, a prize wheel and a DJ.

Where is it on Springfield? It's not on the 7-11 site's location finder yet.

It's actually 1712 Springfield Avenue! (Sorry, I should have edited that into the story!) That's just like Claire said — in the parcel right next to the Hilton Branch of the Library. The intersection is Springfield Avenue and Tuscan Street (not to be confused with Tuscan Road).
