Can't find that Hello Kitty lunch box? Missing a parka from March? Are all your household's hoodies in hiding?

Your last chance to recover these items may be looming. Although schools in the South Orange-Maplewood School District close next week for the summer, many lost & found items will be packed off and donated sooner.

At Seth Boyden School, for example, Mistress of the Abandoned — mom and volunteer Liz Testa — has informed parents that all lost & found items (housed neatly on shelves in the cafeteria) will be shipped off to local charities after school on Friday, June 15.

"Pass by or remind your students to reclaim their lost belongings in the next two school days!"
