Library Friends Gather Donations, Organize Sale at Baird
For the first time, the annual book sale moves to Baird
Clear those shelves, booklovers! Donate now and prepare to fill your shelves again on Saturday, at the annual Friends of the South Orange Public Library book sale.
Volunteer Dru Barkalow explains that, for the first time, the annual sale and donations days are held at the Baird Center. She credits Kate Schmidt for opening the community center's doors to the sale, which takes place on Saturday, the same day as Celebrate South Orange.
Donors can drop books off at Baird this week, Monday through Thursday, 10am-2pm and 6pm-8pm.
The annual book sale is Saturday and Sunday: 11-4 both days, with Sunday "Bag Day," when books are $5 for a bag.
Darryl Haley from MetalArt joins the sale us on June 16th
He will have various smaller metal creations for sale as well as examples of larger items to pre-order. 10% of all MetalArt items sold on June 16th
go toward the Friends of the SOPL.

The book donation event and book sale/bag sale both need volunteer help! If you can spare some time during the donation days listed above or on our book sale days please email our volunteer coordinator Jen Plants: friends@sopl.org or sign up at he circulation desk at the SOPL.
