Local Landmarks, Pocket Parks and Summer Camps This Week in Maplewood
A look at what's coming up in town.
Here are some of the stories Maplewood Patch will be covering this week:
- The latest update on the pocket park proposed by former Mayor and longtime Maplewoodian Fred Profeta. At the most recent Township Committee (TC) meeting, Profeta told committee members about his progress with the project, which included meetings with neighbors and the school district.
- A story on the recent recommendation by members of the Maplewood Historic Preservation Commission to the TC to consider designating the Woman's Club a local historic landmark and/or a National Historic Place.
- Summer camp registration time is upon us. Patch recently did a comprehensive round-up of camps throughout the area. This week, we will focus on hyperlocal camp options in Maplewood, South Orange and surrounding towns.
Reminder: Monday is a four-hour day for all SOMSD elementary schools because of parent-teacher conferences.

As a former resident of Maplewood I'm so glad so much is being done to keep the township beautiful.....maybe someday I'll become a resident again....I just crossed the border to Union Township and live in a beautiful condominium complex called Union Village....the contractor did a magnificent job with this unit....
