Characters Welcome at CHS for a Day
Achieve supports South Orange - Maplewood schools
Talk to yourself? Sure, and make it creative at CHS for Day.
English teacher Stacey Lawrence will teach Monologue Writing, brainstorming ways to construct and share an interior monologue.
"I am doing the CHS for a Day this year because it is a great way to show the community what a creative and exciting place Columbia High School really is," explains Lawrence.
"The course offerings are so varied and it helps to make Columbia the special place that it is. I will be teaching a class on monologue writing, incorporating imagery into writing," she says.
The class is perfect for anyone; characters welcome.
"I'm looking forward to it," says Lawrence.
The Achieve Foundation is proud to host CHS for a Day.
The 2013 CHS for a Day is scheduled for March 16. Enjoy courses including physics, math, Shakespeare, genetics, art and computer skills. Participants shared lunch in the Cougar Cafe to round out the day. Registration forms will be available in January.
Achieve is pleased to collaborate with SOMEA (the local teacher’s union), the Adult School, Columbia H.S.A., Presidents’ Council, the Cougar Café, Cougar Boosters and the CHS Alumni Association to host CHS for a Day.
