Music and art, yes, but also a chance to do good in the 'wood with some food.

Chris Dickson wanted you to bring your cans to Maplewoodstock back in 2010, and he wants you to do it again in 2011.

"MapleFOODstock" will once again take place at Maplewoodstock on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. MapleFOODstock will collect canned food for the pantries at St. Joseph Church and Our Lady of Sorrows—something Dickson does throughout the year with Rent Parties at the South Orange Elks Lodge.

Last year, in order to spice up the endeavor, local tinkerer Steve Harris fashioned a can collecting sculpture (see photos) for MapleFOODstock that he dubbed "Canibus Collectiva," using as much recycled material as possible. Cans were inserted into the flower at the top and hit the bells and chimes on the way down.

Unfortunately, Harris has dismantled this contraption; but, happily, perhaps a new one is coming our way! We'll keep you posted: Canibus Collectiva was a big hit with can-carrying kiddies last year.
