Maplewood Middle School's presentation of the 60's classic Bye Bye Birdie posed some challenges: Finding period clothes? Not so hard. Doing period hairdo's?
Maybe a little bit harder.
I mean, who has rollers and Aquanet lying around these days?
But Kim Hammer of Fringe Salon in Maplewood came to the rescue. Hammer donated the stylists' time to do the do's of the actors' and actresses' hair for the shows.
It was quite a scene last weekend to see heavily tatooed stylists discussing 1960's updo's and putting rollers in middle schoolers' hair.
