Maplewood Student to Perform in Macy's Parade

CHS student Tyler Pease will perform with 60 other youths in the parade finale in New York City.

Tyler Pease of Maplewood, NJ has been selected to perform at the 83rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Pease, 16, who attends Columbia High School, is performing with a group from the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in Loch Sheldrake, New York where he attended camp this summer.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is viewed live by over 2 million spectators along the route and an estimated 65 million television viewers nationwide.

This may be Pease's biggest gig so far. But he's no stranger to the spotlight. He's acted in The Wiz and Once on This Island at Columbia High School and High School Musical, Seussical and Once Upon a Mattress in middle school.

According to the release sent by Stagedoor Manor, there are 22 states and 3 countries represented in the cast of the parade finale--in which Pease is performing. The students involved are ages 10 to 18.

Also from the release: "Stagedoor Manor is a summer of total immersion in theater for young actors, singers, and dancers. For 35 years the program has been educating those who aspire to careers in the entertainment industry and have a long list of successful alumni including Natalie Portman, Zach Braff, Josh Charles, and Robert Downey Jr."

Ok, then. Good luck and congratulations to Tyler!
