MLK Silent Peace March at MMS on Jan. 13
The annual march for middle schoolers to celebrate the memory of Martin Luther King Jr.
Once again, Maplewood Middle School will be holding its annual “Michele Turner Annual MLK Silent Peace March” in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
"The silent march includes all students and staff from the middle school and represents a continued commitment to the ideals that Dr. King and so many others peaceably fought for," wrote MMS Grade 6 Team Leader Richard Palmgren.
As evidenced from Patch's video of last year's march, the sight of hundreds of middle schoolers walking silently through Maplewood Village is stunning and somehow profoundly affecting.
The march takes place on Friday, January 13, at 9:20 a.m., beginning at the school and winding its way through Maplewood Village.
