New Feature Coming to Maplewood Patch Next Week
"About Town" will bring you the latest news, events and neighborhood chatter throughout the day.
Maplewood Patch is kicking off a new feature called "About Town," a column that will be updated throughout the day, every weekday, starting Tuesday, September 7.
What is "About Town"?
Think of it as a light-hearted "bloggy" counterpart to our straightforward news reporting. A place to put all those tidbits that are so interesting but don't necessarily merit a full news story. A Mystery Science Theater 3000 running commentary on our coverage (now I'm showing my age!).
"About Town" will focus on the odds and ends (more the odds, probably) that make Maplewood special. (And you know we think we are so special.) We'll throw in little known facts about local notables, interesting asides from the school board meetings (if we can find one), and bizarre local information about stuff like noise regulations and how high your grass can legally grow (we're talking fescue, not cannabis).
Plus, let's face it, we're looking to get in on more parties. I'm talking weddings, graduations, block parties, barbeques, bat mitvahs, holy communions. You name it.
Ultimately, the column is a chance for the community to get even more involved in Maplewood Patch. Even if you're not already writing for us as a contributor, you can send in your tips, tidbits, announcements, achievements and photos for "About Town" to Maplewood Patch Editor Mary Mann at mary@patch.com.
Check back next Tuesday for the first "About Town" entries and we hope you will come back throughout the day, every day.
