Obama-Romney Debate Round Three: Who Has Made The Best Case?
Barack Obama and Mitt Romney participated in the last of three debates, this time in Boca Raton, Fla. Who made the best pitch for the next four years?
The fact-checkers are buzzing, Facebook groups with the name "Horses and Bayonets" are growing in members by the second and a million polls (including two at the bottom of this article) are registering "votes."
The three round, primetime fight for the Presidency ended Monday night as President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney faced off at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.
The candidates engaged in a pointed but civil debate that examined foreign policy, and also looked at its role in domestic issues.
The first debate, held in Denver, Colo., featured questions on domestic policy. According to a flash poll issued to New Jersey political insiders immediately following the debate, Romney, 65, performed better than Obama, 51, in the first one.
The second debate, held last Tuesday at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., took the form of a town hall meeting, in which citizens asked questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. The participants were undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
According to the flash poll, insiders ran along party lines in selecting who performed best, with about 82 percent saying they believed Obama would be declared the “consensus winner” of the second debate by national media outlets.
The final debate was moderated by Bob Schieffer, host of CBS's "Face of the Nation." The format for the debate was similar to the first presidential debate and focused on foreign policy.
Now, after three debates, who do you think made the best case for election as president?

Romney will restore our Republic and he will rebuild American and restore the esteem that our Nation once possessed and deserved that has been besmirched by the Obama administration.
President Obama, sniveled, degraded, mocked, sneered, embarrassed our country, grinned in contempt and debased not only the American people but the office of the Presidency itself. Such baseness is below the threshold of humanity yet Obama persists in continually repeating it. Just as he repeats his lies and his loathing of America and its people. Wait until after the elections and see what he does with the closed deal he made with EPA and the Gov. I did not say that Obama won the election. I said that he won the debate. The election is close, and I think could go either way at this point. On that, we don't know if the American people have won through the reelection of Obama or if they will lose, perhaps irreparably, through Mitt Romney and the entering of his austerity regime.

Ryan/Romney are no friends of military servicemen. Paul Ryan has a long record of mistreating personal and veterans.
On July 7, 2011, Paul Ryan voted NO on House Roll Call 504, an amendment that would have provided $15 million for insulating facilities at military bases in Afghanistan.
On July 6, 2011, Paul Ryan voted NO on House Roll Call 498, an amendment that would increase funding by $3.6 million for a research program (known as the Gulf War Illness Research program) on illnesses affecting soldiers who served in the first Gulf War in 1991.
On May 26, 2011, Paul Ryan voted NO on House Roll Call 374, a motion to recommit that would have increased combat pay for soldiers by $100 per month.
On April 7, 2011, Paul Ryan voted NO on House Roll Call 246, a motion that would have guaranteed that all military personnel would be paid through September 30, 2011, even in the event that the federal government shut down.

In the closed thread you said 1916 was wartime. . .technically it was for Europe, but the US, where we're talking about bayonet production, was NOT a part of WWI. Next time you want to get snarky, learn history. The United States entered World War I on April 6, 1917 & fought through the end in November 1918. Up to that point, the US had remained neutral, though the US had been an important supplier to Britain and other Allied powers. As you might recall, we were isolationists prior to that. So, we weren't building our arms. Nice freakin' try.

2. You were wrong. Eat it.
3. You don't understand facts, history etc. So now we're done until you post ANY evidence that the US was preparing to go to war. Links to actual websites, not thoughts from the voices in your head. Never once in all of your suppositions have you given me one link to prove your point. Probably b/c they don't exist.
Before you start digging, here's a BIG HINT: The United States military was almost wholly unprepared to enter WWI. The only weapons being produced were being shipped to Europe (incidentally those boats being attacked again (in late 1916/early 1917) by the Germans after a reprieve in the attacks forced us into the war) & our military was using wooden guns and tincans with rocks in them to practice fighting. Our military didn't know the first thing about gases and other new weaponry, b/c they weren't paying attention. Additionally, other than the Preparedness movement (which was not gov't sanctioned) our people were not ready physically or mentally to go to war. Wilson, in fact, was elected in 1916 on a "no war" platform as the majority wanted to live in peace.
NOW that I've wasted time schooling you on US History, I have to wonder what, if anything, you'll come back with. Dumbass.

A commentary from Kent Jones concerning just how bad and hysterical the right-wing is in its prognostications regarding President Obama:
You've probably heard by now that if Obama wins a second term we will become a socialist nation, gun ownership will be made illegal, our country will be unrecognizable by the end of his term, and on and on. If you listen to leaders on the Right it sounds like this election is the most important election of all time and that all of America's freedoms are staked Romney defeating Obama. There's just one problem. I remember 2008.
In 2008 prominent Christian Right group Focus on the Family put out a sixteen page document called "Letter from 2012 in Obama's America." The document was in the form of a letter, a (fictional) letter from a Christian in 2012 writing back from the future about all the changes that had happened since Obama took office.
Focus on the Family was surprisingly specific in terms of its expectations for American life in October 2012. Democrats would disband the Boy Scouts; 1st graders would receive "compulsory training in varieties of gender identity"; after-school Bible studies would be banned in high schools; the Hyde Amendment would be repealed and abortion rates would soar; all FCC restrictions on obscenities would be nullified; private gun ownership would be banned in several states; home schooling would be made illegal; and the "Fairness Doctrine" would be imposed.

On health care, Democrats would pass single-payer health care and the elderly would have their access to care cut off. All of this would happen in the midst of an oppressive society in which "hardly any brave citizen dares to resist the new government policies any more [sic]."
I can appreciate the desire to scare the bejesus out like-minded voters, but given that none of these things actually happened, hasn't Focus implicitly argued that evangelicals should be pleasantly surprised by Obama's presidency?
Regardless, before anyone takes conservatives' new predictions for the next four years seriously, perhaps folks should consider how close they were the last time around.
Postscript: I should mention that Focus on the Family also predicted that Obama would eliminate the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. And this one actually came true -- though the right's warnings about the consequences of DADT repeal were completely wrong.

And President Obama has released his long form birth certificate, which has been vetted by all authorities as completely legitimate (with the possible exceptions of the only "true" experts, namely Donald Trump and Orly Taitz). And even though there are multiple local Hawaiian newspapers that announced his birth in August 1961 (as verified by microfilm archives), I guess this is all some grand conspiracy and possible use of George Soros time-travel technology to alter the historical record?
My God, even if there was a video tape of Don Ho standing next to President Obama when he entered the world while singing "Tiny Bubbles" the right-wing lunatic squad still wouldn't be satisfied that President Obama was born in Hawaii!

In point of fact, he received a 2-S deferment as many of us college students did. You may be too young, stupid or intellectually dishonest to acknowledge it. In 1970, the Selective Service System was modified to a lottery system. Mr. Romney had a lottery number, based on birthdays drawn at random. His number was not called so he was not drafted. I was not so fortunate, so I got to spend 12 months in the Delta. That's the Mekong Delta to you. As Romney said to Obama, if you say something often enough, you will believe it it true.

President Obama lies repeatedly. His campaign had to walk back his remarks about sequestration, which he blamed on Congress ( Another Lie ) it was due to HIM.
His Campaign had to Walk Back his remarks...as it was such an easy and tangible statement to check the veracity of. Now after weeks of lies about the killing of our Ambassador Stevens and 3 other American in Lybia.....the truth surfaced. Obama, Hilary Clinton, Susan Rice, Carney ALL LIED? Emails in the first several hours sent by Stevens stated it was Al Quaeda terrorism, there was no demonstration, there was NO outrage about a video. 4 Americans could have be saved-instead they perished because they did not get the help they repeatedly asked for. The charade about the video was repeated for more than 3 weeks. That night Obama went off to bed knowing what was transporting in Lybia..He got up the next day with knowledge of the 4 murders and went to Las Vegas to campaign and continue to Lie. Romney came off like a blog poster who cuts and pastes URL’s to make a statement in lieu of presenting an understanding of a topic. The president presented a clear grasp of the topics discussed, while Romney presented an arm-chair quarterback perspective at best. Romney wants to cut taxes for middle-class Americans while increasing defense spending, maintaining the Bush tax cuts, and proposes to pay for it by closing as yet unnamed “loop holes.” Both candidate want to protect American jobs from being outsourced overseas but Romney’s Bain Capital company oversaw the restructuring of companies resulting in exactly that—American jobs going overseas.

Obama believes his policies are working and it's "steady as she goes." Most Americans realize that he gets rolled by our enemies and allies at every turn, and tonight's debate did nothing to assuage that view.
Romney sounded Presidential, laid out his foreign policy vision and avoided any gaffes, which would have killed his campaign. As a challenger on foreign policy, that makes you the winner.

Areas that they missed - Like Foreign Trade Agreements, would have shown how feckless Obama is. At the height of the recession his administration dragged their feet on serious trade agreements with Latin America that would have opened up sizable markets to US Exports. Instead, he kowtowed to the unions, who want to use trade agreements to push unionization overseas, and an opportunity to goose the US economy was lost.

Last night was a stunning evisceration by President Obama of Romney. Obama came across as knowledgeable, open, strong and determined. Romney actually changed positions he had taken for over a year; 1. Agreeing with the pullout of American forces in Afghanistan by end of 2014 and 2. Showed a total lack of knowledge of how the military works.
In fact, with Romney agreeing with Obama's stance on virtually everything Romney actually validated Obama's foreign policy approaches. When Romney tried to call Obama's travels an "apology tour", Obama's response about travelling to our military first, then to Israel and mentioning specific places and locations was stunning.
Obama's visit to the 9/11 memorial where he spoke with a young girl, now 14, about the memory of her dad and she thanked him for giving her some closure with the death of Bin Laden almost was a tearful moment.
It was a spectacular exposure of someone who has nothing to say (Romney) and whose only point on Israel is basically that he went to biz school in the '70's with netanyahou..
And not to mention, once again Romney did not mention anything about our men and women in battle, a stunning admission that he has continued to do since the RNC convention.
He may have lost some conservative support tonight.

The only thing "stunning" about BO was his arrogance and ineptitude. Tearful moment? More like shameful that he would use a young girl's grief that way. BO skirted the issue of his apology tour--that's what it was. Let's not forget BO bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and Emperor Akihito of Japan--a "stunning" display of idiocy on his part. I would be wary of Romney if he disagreed straight down the line with all of BO's policies--but he certainly did not agree with everything.

It is way to late for Romney to begin to develop a new policy on the Middle East. He also has scary attitudes toward Russia and China that date back to the 50's. Romney is still evolving and changing from hour to hour. Obama, at least on foreign policy, has earned another term. The stock market is high as well and the job numbers and economy are steadily improving. Obama's a safer choice. Maybe Romney will figure out who he is and be ready next time around.

How about commenting how every single person at Romney rallies and in their get out the vote efforts are white ? Even in Nevada, with Susan Martinez governor of New Mexico trying to help get hispanic support, they could NOT get a single hispanic voter to go door to door. This is a Puritan effort to take over the U.S. and abolish all the progressive change that has occurred over the past 70 years.. Obama did sound more aggressive, but he also lied repeatedly. He was wrong about Romney's position regarding handling the bankruptcies of the auto companies. He was left with no real answer when Romney stated specifically how Obama did indeed go on an apology tour. He was also continuously condescending, especially his snarky remark about the ways that the methods of war have changed, while Romney presented himself as a reasonable and a gentleman. Just because Obama accused Romney of continuously changing his positions does not mean that it is a fact.
Obama played the same game that he did four years ago, speaking out of one side of his mouth to sound reasonable and moderate, while acting in a manner at odds with his words. Remember, this is the man who promised to cut the deficit in half, but increased it by 60% in less than four years; promised to lower unemployment, but has not done so; promised to lower health care insurance costs, but has seen them go up by about $2,500 per family; has seen average family incomes decrease by over $4,000; has piled one business killing regulation on top of another, especially in the energy sector; and on and on. This President knows nothing about economics, and has shown weakness internationally, weakening relationships with our allies while coddling those who reject the values that are basic to us. I pray that there are not enough Kool-Ade drinkers out there to reelect this disaster.

It is a non sequitur to assume that because you are worse off, if you are worse off, that it is because of the current president. It makes better sense, in this case, to look further back then Obama to obvious causes that everyone over the age of four has lived through and seen with their plain eyes.
And no, it makes a lot more sense to ask the question of whether Obama or Romney will make things better for you then it does to assume the better from a challenger without rhyme or reason. Particularly when that challenger's stated positions make clear that he will make things far worse.
It is entirely unreasonable here to base a vote on the question "are you better or worse off then you were four years ago."

The question was posed to Romney on how he would pay for his proposed $2 trillion increase in military spending, and he flat out didn't answer it. Obama then stated the U.S. spends more on its military than the next 10 countries combined. That's a great attention grabber. By the time Romney answered, he said we need a stronger military, and Navy needs more ships because it has fewer ships than it did in 1916. Obama countered with the line of the night. "We also have fewer horses and bayonets." Obama's debating point was that the nature of our military has changed. The U.S. has things like submarines and aircraft carriers that should suffice, and reminded viewers that the nation needed to study what its threats are and put money into things like cybersecurity and space. Obama said that the military neither wants nor has asked for this extra $2 trillion.
Terrible for Romney for 3 reasons. 1. It was the original area of real disagreement, and Romney couldn't afford to be bested. 2. No matter what he may know, he looked like a neophyte to military spending, repeating old Republican talking points. Viewers could be unsure whether he knew what century this is.
And 3. it's 2 trillion dollars! Both talked about budget deficit and the need to balance the budget, and over 3 debates, this $2 trillion on military spending was the biggest difference on offer. Axing Big Bird would net Romney next to nothing in savings, but adding $2 trillion to defense sounds excessive. Point Obama.

Rm- case in point (on why your posts aren't worth reading) - Obama had 2 years of a majority in both houses and squandered it by focusing on Healthcare and getting nothing much else done. As such, the midterm elections (which are basically viewed as a referendum on POTUS policies) went to his opposition (in the House). To blame all things bad on the House being republican is ridiculous. The president's job is to work with the other party and bring them to the table. And while I think the tea party idiots aren't worth engaging, had he engaged regular republicans on his ideas, he might have gotten their support on something in the last 2 years and maybe even passed a budget.
Succinctly:
1. Obama had the majority in both houses for 2 years and got little accomplished.
2. Voters voted to remove that majority and give the republicans a try in the House.
3. Deadlock still could have been avoided if Obama worked with Boehner and the more moderate republicans. They outnumber the insane teapartiers.

It's hard to unseat a president on foreign policy. it is rarely ever done (see Kerry 2004). The main issue here is controlling our debt and getting the economy back on track. In my opinion other issues should be considerations, but your decision should be based mostly on who you feel will take control of spending in Washington and optimize the function and role of the federal government.
Why should Ohio or Florida or Virginia get a say in what dictates national policy? Let's shrink the federal government and put control of policy in the hands of states.

I thought the debate pretty much ended a draw. Fact checking showed both were neither wrong nor right. I thought Romney had a pretty good grasp of foreign policy issues and Obama was able to define what his administration has done.
I do get a kick out of whatching the "post game" interviews and reading the patch comments above. The talking points have been dutifully presented everywhere. I can't understand why the media keeps talking about how uncivil we have become and that we need to work together to solve America's problems, but insists on declaring a winner and loser. The asian concept of "saving face" is something we all should learn to use.
The bottom line is that after three debates it appears that both are capable of being President of the United States. Both have different visions of America's future and how to get there. He passed Affordable Care Act which will benefit 32 million un/underinsured Americans, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to re-regulate the financial sector after its practices caused the current mess we are in, Signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009 to spur economic growth amid greatest recession since the Great Depression. Ended the war in Iraq, began the drawdown of the war in Afghanistan, Eliminated Osama bin laden [something Bush couldn't do], turned around the Auto Industry, repealed don't ask, don't tell to give soldiers who are fighting for our freedom to have their own freedom to be who they are, and restored our dignity and image abroad. I might add, he did this after the GOP made public that their number one priority was to make Obama a one term president.
Yes, the GOP put their party ahead of the country's economic health. Not to create jobs, grow business or train the next generation of skilled Americans. Their goal is simply just to be in power. That is the real issue here.

I thought Romney had better ideas than the president. Romney seemed much more respectful. Perhaps a kid/20something would relate to the president but to me Obama came across like a cranky, middleaged guy who was bored trying to explain why his budget was off.

I loved this quote from Romney: "Syria is Iran's only ally in the Arab world. It's their route to the sea."
You'd think with all that money he could afford a map.
In seriousness, the debate was basically a draw. I personally give Obama a slight edge, but the reality is that I don't think it'll move the polling numbers all that much.
For everyone who's interested in polls, I just found a pretty cool blog - fivethirtyeight. It's NY Times but before you jump on me for being a stupid liberal, Nate Silver (its author) is a statistician who correctly predicted who would win 49 of the 50 states in the 2008 election (he predicted Iowa wrong by 1%) and correctly predicted all of the senate races that year.
It's a pretty cool spot for those of us who are interested in polling data, not just hurling insults against the other party.

Perhaps you should. Bin Laden did not live in the U.S, so it is not relevant to the economic chaos perpetuated by BO. Since you say we are better off with OB then we would be with Romney, (note the use of the subjunctive mood), then you must be one of those "rich folks". Feel free to pay more taxes. On Romney not taking every deduction to which he is entitled. I find that odious in a couple of ways.
First, I believe it was a calculated decision not to do so in order to stick with the tax rate below which he said he had never dropped.
Second, it was Mitt Romney himself who stated "frankly if I had paid more than are legally due I don’t think I’d be qualified to become president".

Romney said that Syria is Iran's way to the sea. However, to get to the coast of Syria, Iran would have to pass through BOTH Iraq and Syria to get to the sea! In the meantime, Iran has MILES of coastline...1520 miles, in fact: Caspian Sea to the north, Persian Gulf to the west, Gulf of Oman, Strait of Hormuz, Arabian Sea to the south. Walter, they don't get tax breaks for specifically shipping jobs overseas. They get a tax break for capital expenditures and that includes shipping jobs overseas. To fix this, they just have to add a location requirement to capital expenditure deductions and be done with it. Since neither party REALLY wants to be the one to tax corporations more, they don't fix it and blame the other party for the loophole. Cute, right?

Walter, Americans love their low Walmart prices. You and I know that stuff all comes from China, where wages are pitifully low. If a politician suggests bringing those jobs back here, he/she needs to look voters in the eye and tell them to be happy paying much higher prices. And having their incomes erode from higher inflation. This is just not so simple.

Obama in 1998 Speech: ‘I Actually Believe in Redistribution:

Ann
12:14 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2012
Actually, Diane, we have MORE respect around the world. I don't know where you got the idea we didn't. Fox News is fond of saying that type of thing. But, speaking as an Independent, my observation last night was that Romney did not know much about the world. I, too, noticed that comment about Syria being Iran's "path to the sea". It's as if the Persian Gulf were not between those two places! Romney did come off more as a salesman with a new persona while Obama appeared to be more in command of the facts. Another thing that disturbed me was that right after saying we should reduce our debt, Romney said we should build the military by a couple of trillion dollars. Romney, I am sure is a very good businessman who made a lot of money, but it struck me last night that we need a commander more than we need a "boss". He didn't look like a commander to me. He seemed nervous and insecure. Another thing, the person who is giving him all this stuff to say--his Foreign Policy Advisor--is Dan Senor--George Bush's advisor. Enough said!
Diane

Wrong, Ann. We have less respect. The very fact of our debt has made us a subject of derision. Obama came across as rude, petty, and unpresidential, but frankly I don't care about that. I care about his record which is awful. I would never vote for him. Nor do I care who Romney's advisor is. I care about his own judgment and it appears to me to be sound. I have much more confidence in him to get our economy straightened out than I do in Obama. I feel less and less safe with Obama in charge. He made promises he has failed to keep. Why would you believe him this time around?

The real question is not who won or lost one, 2 or all the debates. We have the responsibility to decide which one is telling the truth, which one has the interests of the citizens at heart and has the skill set as a leader. All of these having to be demonstrated in their past activities, these are the real determinants of how we vote. To allow the sound bites to determine your vote, to allow a false sense of party loyalty to determine your vote are false premises upon which to make your decision. For Me, Mitt Romney has approached this campaign as a business deal looking at us as the buyers and he does not care what he says in order to close the deal. I guess smokestack wants no goverenment:
the American political tradition is deeply rooted in the notion that government should do as little as possible, especially when it comes to regulating the economy. So profound was this belief that for much of the 19th Century laissez faire was the most popular economic doctrine in the land. In short, the notion of laissez faire meant that the government should keep its hands out of the economy unless it was absolutely necessary to intervene in order to protect life or property. Under this doctrine, government regulation of wages or prices or any form of income redistribution (such as welfare) were considered inappropriate, even morally wrong because leaving the economy alone, proponents of the doctrine maintained, would produce the greatest levels of prosperity and happiness possible.

ok "g" you want to know what the lies are? Let's start with the first lie .....that either of these guys has the interests of the American people at heart. That either one is a job creator (except maybe for the Security and prison industry). That either of them wants world peace. That Syria and Iran pose a serious threat to the people of the US. That these wars are about anything but destabilizing the entire middle east region in the interests of military contractors and Big Oil. And most importantly, that either of these candidates has a real plan to boost the economy besides more war.
Don't believe the mainstream media. It's all lies. Obama and Romney are on the same side. And both are more than willing to destroy what is left of our once great nation.

G>-Romney: Syria is Iran’s only ally in the Arab world. It’s their route to the sea.”
A quick glance at a map of the Middle East easily throws out this claim. Perhaps Romney was referring specifically to the Mediterranean Sea, but he certainly didn’t say so. Syria and Iran are allies, that part is true, but a large part of Iran’s sovereign border is coastline that moves from the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and into the Arabian Sea, which, The New York Times’ Thom Shanker points out, “leads into the Indian Ocean and onward to the world’s high seas.”

Stewart Resmer,
Look at the map: Not only does Obama not know how many states there are, he also doesn’t know where they are.
During the 2008 primary campaign, he explained why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” Obama’s home state of Illinois, and not Arkansas, shares a border with Kentucky.
Obaba sure knows his American geography, doesn't he,

From your New Yorker article:..." A visitor to the F.D.R. Memorial, in Washington, is confronted by these words from Roosevelt’s second Inaugural Address, etched in :
stone: “The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide for those who have too little.”
From the mouth of FDR Social Security, just another vote pandering exercise
FDR admitted that the Social Security Act, which we are burdened with trying to "fix" now, was nothing but a vote pandering device. FDR said, "I guess you're right on the economics, but those taxes were never a problem of economics. They were politics all the way through." 3 This was a quote from FDR in reply to the fact that Social Security Payroll Taxes were a drag on the economy.

We talk a lot about the lies this Administration tells about the economy, but several weeks ago, we got a whopper. Here's the president on the campaign trail talking about TARP.
“We got back every dime we used to rescue the financial system, but we also passed a historic law to end taxpayer-funded Wall Street bailouts for good. “
Every dime? I wish it were true, but unfortunately the taxpayer is still out of pocket on the bailout of the financial industry. Naturally, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lead the way. Together they owe taxpayers $140 billion, actually more.
OBAMA LIES!
g
2:28 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2012
DS, OBAMA'S LIES:
- In May 2011, Obama said the fence between America and Mexico was “basically complete”; yet the Department of Homeland Security admits just 36.3 miles or 5% of the border is fenced.
- Obama lied and said abortions would not be publicly funded under Obamacare.
Despite Obama’s empty lies about no public funding for abortions, a March 2012 edict from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) unequivocally ruled Obamacare will use our tax dollars to fund abortion.
-In April 2009, Obama claimed he “saved or created over 150,000 jobs.”
In an odd burst of veracity, his friends at the AP called him on this lie, pointing out that at that point since Obama came to office, the United States lost more than 1.2 million jobs as per his own Bureau of Labor Statistics. The report continued by pointing out that any jobs “saved or created” by Obama’s stimulus bill were “dwarfed by the number of recent job losses.”
-He claimed that by the end of his first term, he would cut the deficit in half.
The truth is that he has given us more new debt than all previous presidents combined.

G.
Since you're clearly a typical angry white man.. Bush increased the debt by 175% over 8 years.. it would have been more, but they never included the wars in the debt (they were in a separate account). When he took office, he implemented tax cuts and medicare drug benefit expansions - these and the cost of paying the debt, as well as fixed costs are actually nearly 90% of the annual debt. The right thing to do is to cut fix costs, including military spending (it was $230B in 2002 and it's $630B now, not a needed level).
And regarding the massive crowds in Colorado, take a close look.. not a minority in sight.
I guess you still can't hit the g spot...

DS,
I guess you're a typical angry white man when you successfully refute the lies spewed by the vacuous liberal progressives. In the future don't lie and you will not incite the angry white man to refute your lies with facts.
The President’s media apologists are attempting to carry water for Obama and shift the blame for the budget mess squarely at the feet of President George W. Bush.
Specifically, they argue that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003, and the recession are all to blame for today’s deficits.
It’s an argument we heard before from Obama since the days of his campaign, and it’s an argument that is as flawed today as it was then.
One simple number explains it well: the budget deficit figure in 2007, the last Bush year prior to the recession. The tax cuts were in full effect, both wars were raging, and the recession had not yet struck, yet the budget deficit in 2007 was $160 billion, or about a tenth of Obama’s deficit this year.

Anonymous and Concerned - I just don't buy the simplistic answer that the lack of hiring is the Obama administration. I think it is (1) generalized uncertainty and (2) lack of revenue growth.
(1) There are virtually no centrist Republicans remaining and the party leaders decided from the get-go that they would fight this President tooth-and-nail and dedicate themselves to his defeat. Changes the Democrats managed to push through, especially the health care changes, remain very tenuous. If Gov Romney wins, "Day One" will be interesting. All this contributes to the unsettled feeling you speak of. Business wants certainty and stability above all.
(2) The other thing that drives hiring is revenue. If sales are up, eventually hiring must follow, there is only so much efficiency and productivity you can squeeze out. If a company is healthy and on the edge of hiring they will hire starting the day after the election, as this will largely eliminate the uncertainty. If they are not healthy, a scapegoat is often more convenient than introspection.
There is a LOT of money on the sidelines. It'll come off the sidelines after the election, regardless of the election outcome. I travel a lot for work and it has increased my appreciation for the system we have and I believe the USA will be fine.

Ridgewood Mom,
Obama:
Here's the passage from his book, Dreams from My Father, where he discusses his drug use:
"I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it.
In high school, Obama, according to his yearbook photo, was part of the "Choom Gang." Chooming was Hawaiian slang for smoking pot.
Mitt Romney:
After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar exam, but never worked as an attorney. In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the United States.
He was President and CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
In 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.
Bain Capital, starting with one small office supply store in Massachusetts,
turned it into Staples; now over 2,000 stores employing 90,000 people.
Bain Capital also worked to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply and many others.
He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years.
He took no salary and was the unpaid Governor of Massachusetts for four years.
He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity.

Its rather simple. Barack Obama was born in 1961. Vietnam ended in 1975 when he was 14 years old. That is not an eligible age for service. There was not a draft to be dodged since Obama has been of age. Mitt Romney was born in 1941. In 1975 he was 34 year old. He was of eligible age during the conflict but dodged serving.

g, because you're interested in historical accuracy, and you should be, if you are bringing up what the candidates did in high school please note that Romney held down a crying fellow student and cut his hair because he perceived him to be gay, humiliating him.
You may also note there was no draft to dodge when Obama became of age.
You may also consider those companies you list are the ones providing jobs that pay low wages and are part time, making the employees have such a low salary they don't pay the taxes you want them to pay ( usually the things your kind blames on the President)

Its rather simple. Barack Obama was born in 1961. Vietnam ended in 1975 when he was 14 years old. That is not an eligible age for service.
There were more cnflicts he could have in which he could have served:
1980–1989
1980 – Iran. Operation Eagle Claw. 1980 - U.S. Army and Air Force units arrive in the Sinai in September as part of "Operation Bright Star".
1981 – El Salvador. After a guerrilla offensive against the government of El Salvador, additional US military advisers were sent to El Salvador, bringing the total to approximately 55, to assist in training government forces in counterinsurgency
1981 – Libya. First Gulf of Sidra Incident On August 19, 1981,1982 – Sinai. On March 19, 1982, President Reagan reported the deployment of military personnel and equipment to participate in the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai.

Tee, if you mean ardent? yes I am.
If you want hope and change promised by Obama, you got it, and it doesn't feel or look good.
Mr. Hope and Change wants to create a nation humbled; humiliated, casting-aside capitalism and individual freedoms for one where “we the people” are government controlled.
This would be a system that genuflects mediocrity, steals personal aspiration and opportunity, and punishes those who strive to succeed.
With higher unemployment, lower family income, more people living in poverty, higher gasoline prices, an inept foreign policy that watches Iran spin its way toward nuclear weaponry and a Syrian despot crush his own people yearning to breathe free, a national debt that has increased at twice the rate as the Obama administration's predecessor, a costly and unworkable nationalization of health care, the squishiest economic recovery in decades, the nation's longest housing slump, America's first-ever debt downgrading, President Barack Obama can be said to have accomplished the nearly impossible: So many Americans now question whether their children's future will be as good as our past.
These are the results of Obamas hope and change. What will the next 4 years look like, if he is re-elected?

Ridgewood Mom, I think are trying to decive us.
Here are some quotes by democrats with whom you are familiar, leading up to the war in Iraq:
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program.
He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002-Truth!
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction so the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ..."

Ridgewood Mom,
Obama has voted for all of the president's war funding requests since coming to the Senate, and is poised to vote in favor of the latest request when it comes to the Senate floor this spring. Liberal groups have demanded that lawmakers cut off funds for the war as a way to force its end, but Obama has joined most Democrats in the House and Senate in saying he would not take such a move.

"The problem is, is that the way OBAMA has done it over the last 4 years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $9 trillion for the first 43 presidents - #44 added $7 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $16 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $50,000 for every man, woman and child. Ridgewood, What you omitted:
President Obama deriding military veterans as 'whiners' for objecting to a proposal to bill their private health insurance plans for treatment of battlefield injuries.
The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal. "Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice ? It doesn't compute."
"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
It appears that OBAMA doesn't know what the military men and women do every day in and day out.

Mitt Romney is a draft dodger.

When Was the Last Military Draft?
By Georgia Alton, eHow Contributor
The last military draft in the United States (U.S.) was during the Vietnam War and resulted in protests that helped engender anti-war sentiment. Though the government has not required military service since then, all men currently living in the U.S. between the ages of 18 and 25 must register with the Selective Service System so that the government will have an idea of the population available in case the need for a draft in the future should arise.

Right now the "No Leaners" map shows Obama hanging on by a thread (aka Ohio). And there are several other ways for Romney to get to 270 (don't bother to demand proof, we both know that the combos exist).

David, their leader, a big burly man of 50, gets off his Harley, walks through a group of gawkers, past the State Trooper, and says, "What are you doing?"
She says, "I'm going to commit suicide."
While he didn't want to appear "sensitive," he didn't want to miss a be-a-legend opportunity either so he asked ... "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a kiss?"
So, with no hesitation at all, she leaned back over the railing and did just that ... and it was a long, deep, lingering kiss followed immediately by another one.
After they finished, David gets approval from his biker-buddies, the onlookers, and even the State Trooper, and says, "Wow! That was the best kiss I have ever had Honey! That's a real talent you're wasting Sugar Shorts. You could be famous if you rode with me. Why are you committing suicide?"

Nothing listed here is standard fare for Presidential candidates. Quite frankly, it's none of yours or anyone else's business. Nor do does any of this have any relevance on his performance as president.
But there are some documents which historically fall within the standard fare of what we expect Presidential candidates to provide. For example complete Federal Tax returns going back several years in accordance with a majority of recent candidates who accordign to PolitiFact, release far more than two years of tax returns. So the question you should be asking is what is Romney hiding by only releasing two years as opposed to meeting the standard of "far more than two years?"

Less than two weeks out from Election Day, Republican Mitt Romney has erased President Barack Obama's 16-point advantage among women, a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows. And the president, in turn, has largely eliminated Romney's edge among men.
Those churning gender dynamics leave the presidential race still a virtual dead heat, with Romney favored by 47 percent of likely voters and Obama by 45 percent, a result within the poll's margin of sampling error, the survey shows.

This PRESIDENT has there blood on his hands, and he was informed about what the happened- he had a chance to help them, but he went to bed and the next day he went to Las Vegas to campaign for HIMSELF.
The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton conspired and told Lies that the raid and murders were because of some obscure video, RIce and Carney got on board the

It's hard to take some of you people seriously because, aside from your spelling, your arguments are tending toward Donald Trump style.. However, N.J. is going to vote for Obama, so it really doesn't matter what silly stuff you say about Communism, etc. The interesting thing is that I haven't seen anyone address the situation that Colin Powell addresses. He knows the TEAM Romney will bring in. It is the same team that George Bush had--starting with Bush's Foreign Policy Advisers led by Dan Senor. If you're happy with that team and willing to see things like another cold war or Medicare and Social Security dismantled--why then you definitely should vote for Romney. And his team.....don't forget the team. Have a good day.

Ann,
History of Obama and the liberals past 4 years
No debt ceiling plan of their own.
No budget for well over 800 days.
No leadership from their President.
No jobs.
No economic growth.
It seems the only thing Democrats are capable of these days is doing nothing. And killing any and every idea that comes from Republicans.
And whining. A lot!
So President Obama and the Democrats were given carte blanche to fix the mess the country was in.
But rather than fix it, they have made things worse in their quest for absolute and eternal power.
A wholly unpopular ObamaCare bill was shoved down the throats of a public overwhelmingly against it.
Stimulus money was handed out to the hand picked “winners” as defined by the Obama Administration. This money went to unions who produce competitively overpriced, shabby goods and companies that produce “green” technology with price tags so high their products are not viable in the marketplace.
And to make them viable, the lefties have stifled any and all competition. Oil, coal and natural gas have been attacked, sending energy prices sky high in the hopes of forcing Americans to buy expensive (and toxic) light bulbs and cars that they don’t want.
g
8:37 am on Friday, October 26, 2012
Ann, continued from above
I want it and I want it NOW is the new call of the left. Without the patience to allow the private sector to develop cost competitive alternatives at a natural pace, the rush to force these things down the collective throats of America has predictably backfired and the result is high unemployment, inflation and massive national debt.
Americans have grown weary of waiting for Obama and the Progressive Democrats to fix the problem, but all they see is a doubling down on the failures.
There is not one single aspect of life in America that has improved under the Obama regime. Not one!
Obama has been given a free pass from the beginning. His flaws have been ignored, his inability to lead has been swept under the rug.
But the one thing that cannot be hidden from the public (for long) is the results of the most inept man to ever hold the office of president.
Obama spent weeks in silence while oil spewed in the Gulf, and his minions claimed he was “engaged”.
He sits silently while the Senate fails to produce a budget.
He sat silently for months before acting on Afghanistan.
He sat silently as protestors nearly brought down the regime in Iran.
And the list goes on and on.
But they are not elevating Obama, they are lowering America to give the illusion Obama is on a pedestal.

Bob Woodward's "The Price of Politics," published last month.
The portrait it contains of Mr. Obama—of a president who is at once over his head, out of his depth and wholly unaware of the fact—hasn't received the attention it deserves.
Throughout the book, which is a journalistic history of the president's key economic negotiations with Capitol Hill, Mr. Obama is portrayed as having the appearance and presentation of an academic or intellectual while being strangely clueless in his reading of political situations and dynamics. He is bad at negotiating—in fact doesn't know how. His confidence is consistently greater than his acumen, his arrogance greater than his grasp.
He admits receiving Marxist training (Marxism is the ideology of using law as a means of oppression and control).

g,
I think this post marks the first real agreement I've ever had with your otherwise rather disconnected stream of consciousness. Barack Obama has proven to be a rather bad negotiator, often making concessions before negotiations start, rather than taking a hard-line approach and forcing those concessions to come through the process. He appears to hold the rather naive view that others in Washington wish to work with him to reach consensus, rather than the realistic view that he needs to begin from a far-left position and negotiate towards the center.
The fact that people like yourself accuse him of the most wild-eyed leftist traits would actually work in his favor if he was better at this game, because he's got an awful lot of room to move to the left before approaching anything like what has been pinned on him.
It's almost as though he expects good faith efforts and reasonable discussion from people in Washington. Where he came up with a thought like that I have no idea.

All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

If Obama is allocating out our tax payers dollars.....it is not his money......of course he is attempting to reach every last vote he can. How does he get those votes? By preying on people who find themselves in dire circumstances, which of course he HAS CAUSED. The old progressive and socialistic TRICK...create the problem and then miraculously appear and help solve it WITH OTHER PEOPLES MONEY...Taxpayer dollars. With that Obama purposely causes the unfortunate victims to feel indebted to him thus cast their VOTE for him. It is all a ruse and if you don't understand the process you are lost. A Vote for Obama is a vote for a Communist and the end of the American way of life. They did the same thing with Foreclosures and they have infiltrated our society with false environmentalism using the United Nations Agenda 21 to cede our sovereignty to foreign control.

Patriot, How can you claim to be a patriot and you can say this about your president. Like it or not he is the president of the United states. He is answerable to the constitution and Congress and the people. How can you call him a communist? The only thing that his administration and the majority of the people of the US want is for the wealthiest people pay the same as the middle class. I don't care about me and what I make. Ill be fine. What I care about is there is no reason why people in this country should go hungry and without healthcare. We can afford it if everyone is not greedy.
In 1970 the tax rate for the top 1% was at a high of 60% and now its at say 35 (approx) how does this translate to communism? The point is here that the wealthiest people have been able to get the rates lower disproportionately.
Communism is a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.

I WILL NOT vote for a President who gives the orders to ASSASSINATE Americans without a fair trial"
In late January, I wrote about the Obama administration's "presidential assassination program," whereby American citizens are targeted for killings far away from any battlefield, based exclusively on unchecked accusations by the Executive Branch that they're involved in Terrorism.
At the time, The Washington Post's Dana Priest had noted the Joint Chiefs of Staff compiled "hit lists" of Americans, and Priest suggested that the American-born Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki was on that list.
The following week, Obama's Director of National Intelligence, Adm. Dennis Blair, acknowledged in Congressional testimony that the administration reserves the "right" to carry out such assassinations.

Barack Hussien Obama is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.
Barack Hussien Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.
Obama's game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.
Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go?
It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).
A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America.

g,
With such lengthy posts that do not address the question it seems rather clear that you are deliberately trying to avoid it.
g's arguments speaks volumes about the psychology of this mindset. He has no reasons for Romney. Only derision for Barack Obama.
In fact, Romney has few clearly stated visions for anything. The reason is rather clearly that his actual positions, if examined by the American people, would be very undesirable to the voting populace. So the strategy is to avoid sharing them and focus on pushing the idea that because the economy is struggling, anybody but Obama will be better.
But how can we know if someone will be better if we can not compare their visions?
Barack Obama has spoken consistently about his aspirations for all Americans on a variety of topics and his record shows an active aspiration toward those very noble goals. Contrary to Romney, he has spoken consistently on behalf of a vision of a unified America that cares for all of its citizens.
Unfortunately, he is often derided these days by conservatives as being a divider rather then a uniter. g's arguments make it abundantly clear that Obama is not a divider but only a challenged uniter. The problem is that some people who have traditionally coasted on privilege and entitlement don't want a unified America that cares about all of its citizens. They want only for themselves.

You cannot predict the future. My point was that no ones actions today will guarantee any future. The constitution and bill of rights will change regardless. Times change. Think about it this way. What government change or leadership has effected you or anyone you know in the last 100 years in a bad way here in the USA? The constitution and the bill of rights has made it possible us to effect change. Your arguments are not solid because the only constant is change. Not only that, Romney is more guilty than anyone of being a puppet, Can you deny his flip flopping on so many issues? i mean anyone can change their mind but damn dude this guy is not solid in any belief other than his god lives on the planet Kolob and that he will rule his own planet one day, namely earth.

The Gallup methodology is known to be flawed in that they use mostly landlines to do their polling - consequently they get a skewed sample space that favors older folks who as a group tend to be more conservative.
If you want much more trustworthy polling data, I encourage you to consult fivethirtyeight.com, which as of today (Oct. 26th) has President Obama's probability of winning re-election at nearly 75% with 295 electoral college votes.

This president endorsed a young woman comparing voting for him to having sex outside of marriage for the first time, which, looking at today's stats, is as young as 13. WASHINGTON (AP) -- Republican senators are demanding that the Obama administration make public the surveillance video taken during last month's deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, which killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
Sens. John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte wrote to President Barack Obama's defense secretary, CIA director and attorney general demanding that the video be declassified.
In the run-up to the presidential election, Republicans have accused the Obama administration of distorting the account of the attack on Sept. 11 that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Officials first blamed it on a mob set into motion by an anti-Islamic film. Obama

Since you clearly don't understand my views whatsoever, why don't I offer some of them to you. Let's call it a trade. I share something about what I believe and you share something about what you believe.
First, I am a social moderate. The place where I separate, strongly these days, from Republicans and the likes of Romney are on economic issues. I say these days because of the way in which libertarians and the tea party have radicalized the republican party to the abandonment of fighting for traditional conservative social values in favor of emphasizing radical austerity. I believe that Barack Obama wants to help and protect Americans and the American way of life and that Mitt Romney doesn't care about any of those things but just wants to put more money in his own pocket and the pockets of his plutocratic clan.
Your turn 12345678. Which of Romney's ideas do you like and why?

I see Obama as a liar and not interested in the middle class at all but more concerned with those dependent on the gov't. Romney is a successful businessman. I believe he will strive for success as President just as he has in his personal life. Birth control is a non issue for me. I don't see either party over turning Roe v Wade, so I'm not worried about it. I want to see budget cuts before tax increases.

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/26/cia-operators-were-denied-request-for-help-during-benghazi-attack-sources-say/#ixzz2ASKaKvL6
Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."

Of course the NYT tried to bury the key info at the bottom of the story - "For example, growth last quarter was unexpectedly bolstered by a 13 percent jump in military spending that few economists expect to be repeated in the fourth quarter.
Without the increase from military spending, the economy would have grown at an annual rate of 1.4 percent, said Steve Blitz, chief economist at ITG Investment Research."

I will vote for Romney because the core of Romney's campaign platform, his five-point plan, at least shows he understands that reviving the economy and repairing the government's balance sheet are imperative — now, not four years in the future.
Romney has a strong record of leadership to run on.
He built a successful business.
He rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from scandal and mismanagement.
As governor of Massachusetts, he worked with a Democrat-dominated legislature to close a $3billion budget deficit without borrowing or raising taxes, and pass the health plan that became a national model.
This is Romney's time to lead, again.

About 28% of businesses Bain invested in were bankrupt or out of business within 8 years.
He had federal money to rescue the Olympics.
In MA he raised fees, getting around the tax loophole.
If it is Romney's time to lead again, why is he not carrying the state he was born in MI, or the state he supposedly did so well in ( and never sought a second term because he was so unpopular) MA?

Obama is in favor of abortion. I guess he doesn't understand what abortion does to the black community or he just doesn't care.
California State Statutes. : "Section 187, Murder defined: death of a fetus. Paragraph A-- Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being or a fetus with malice aforethought."
Each year, almost a half a million black babies are lost to abortion.
The Life Education and Resource Network (LEARN), the largest African-American pro-life group in the country has stated that from 1973-2001, abortion has claimed more than two and a half times as many African-American lives as the next five leading causes combined.
In 2004, the black population in the U.S. stood at 36 million. Between 1973 and 2004, roughly 15 million blacks were aborted, which means that, as of 2004, nearly 30% of the black population has been lost to abortion!
And that doesn't even factor in all the children that would have been born to those aborted a generation ago. Population estimates show that blacks will soon lose their status as the nation's largest minority group.
To put it bluntly, abortion has thinned the black community in ways the Ku Klux Klan could have only dreamed of.

It's sad to see that people choose a name like 'liberty' or 'patriot' to mask that they state their (backward) opinions as facts. Go Ridgewood Mom for your sensible and sane contributions to this forum. But please know you can never convince people that are so pe-occupied. Not sure if it has to do with skin colour, background or beacuse they work in the weapon industry, but unfortunately in these campaigns too many people don't care about facts...
Still I hope you continue to educate people, as that's how we moved out of the middle ages and hopefully in a few years time some people in this forum would enter the 21st century because of you :-)

From Wikipedia - "The White Horse Prophecy is a statement purported to have been made in 1843 by Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, regarding the future of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and the United States of America. The Latter Day Saints, according to the prophecy, would "go to the Rocky Mountains and ... be a great and mighty people", identified figuratively with the White Horse described in the Revelation of John. The prophecy further predicts that the United States Constitution will one day "hang like a thread" and will be saved "by the efforts of the White Horse".[1]
Some have speculated, on the basis of the White Horse Prophecy, that Mormons expect the United States to eventually become a theocracy dominated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).[2][3] The authenticity of the prophecy as a whole, which was not made public until long after Smith's death, is debated, and the leadership of the LDS Church has stated that "the so-called 'White Horse Prophecy' ... is not embraced as Church doctrine."[4] However, the belief that members of the LDS Church will one day need to take action to save the imperiled US Constitution has been attributed to Smith in several sources and has been discussed in an approving fashion by Brigham Young and other LDS leaders."

Fact, Obama lied:

Obama’s political philosophy. Wright introduced Obama to Black Liberation theology.
“Black Liberation theology is based essentially on the Marxist belief that there is an oppressor class and an oppressed class,” Klein says. “And in the case of Black Liberation theology, the oppressor class are the whites, and the oppressed are the blacks. And there is a ‘maldistribution’ of wealth in this country, a quote from Black Liberation theology.”
The point is that wealth should be redistributed.
“This is quite close, if not identical, to Marxist beliefs,” Klein says.
You must be proud of Obama's Marxist beleifs and his distribution of wealth.

It is so amusing and hypocritical that the right-wing fringe touts Romney as a "business leader" while President Obama is an abysmal failure (while he tries to establish domestic Green energy jobs) in light of the Wall Street Journal report this past week::
While Romney led Bain Capital:
- 77 businesses invested in
- 22% filed for bankruptcy or closed within 8 years after the Bain take-over
- 8% lost all investments
Meanwhile.....
D.O.E. Recipient Grants under Obama:
92% Success Rate - 8% Failure.
In regard to Solyndra, the Chinese government deliberately bank-rolled its solar panel industry to allow their panels to be sold for less than cost of manufacture and thereby undercut US counterparts, including Solyndra. When Solyndra and the Obama Administration asked the (republican controlled) House to intervene, they turned a deaf ear as Boehner, Cantor, and company wanted Solyndra to fail so they could make political hay out of the matter.
So when Romney, Truimp and other notable republicans say they will get tough with the Chinese, don't believe it for a moment. As Davd Letterman so brilliantly pointed out right in front of Trump during his Thursday appearance, most of Trump's clothing line is in fact manufactured in China.

I'm really laughing harder here. Still no proof (just stating that someone is a liar, Marxist etc without naming sources, providing links to fragments of movies etc) doesn't proof anything. Obamacare is the closest Obama has gotten to socialism or communism in a y of his actions (I'm not a big supporter of that plan to be honest). But this is still very far from any socialist state and so far from communism that is has not one single aspect that is on a communist level.
Yes obama's father and step father both were Marxist and yes his biological father was a Muslim. His biological father left him when he was 2 years old. That a little before anyone's religion is formed. But even later indeed a young Obama had light Marxist ideas, his current actions as president doesn't show that as he left those ideas behind many years back. Romney has changed his op ions on items like a maortion over the last 10 years, so that suddenly means he is still pro abortion?
Stefan

Yes some foreign countries with socialist elements have a bad economy (Spain, Greece, Italy) but it has no direct link that socialist means bad economy as why otherwise can one clarify that the economy of countries like Canada, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland and France (and many more) is doing better than ours (less unemployment, more, growth and less debt)? Their highest tax bracket is even higher than in Spain, the country Romney used in debate #1. There is no correlation between socialism and bad economy. Sorry to say.
You cannot blame Obama for the economic crisis we are in as that started way before his presidency. You can only look at his policies and whether they made a poaitive or negative impact and the vast majority of economic analysts agree it is improving. Blaming Obama for the economy is like blaming Bush for the twin tower attack as it happened under his presidency: ridiculous.

How ‘Failed Policies’ Of Democrats Were Responsible For Financial Crisis
By Michael Eden
Why should anyone blame Democrats for the housing finance crisis? Because they laid virtually all the landmines that would eventually explode in the first place, and then they wouldn’t allow Republicans to reform or even regulate the impending disaster before it occurred, that’s why.
From the New York Times in September 30, 1999:
“Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. . . .
Under Clinton, bank regulators have breathed the first real life into enforcement of the Community Reinvestment Act, a 20-year-old statute meant to combat “redlining” by requiring banks to serve their low-income communities. The administration also has sent a clear message by stiffening enforcement of the fair housing and fair lending laws. The bottom line: Between 1993 and 1997, home loans grew by 72% to blacks and by 45% to Latinos, far faster than the total growth rate.

It was the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act, which was engineered by Phil Gramm and Newt Gingrich in the 90's following the republican takeover of Congress in the '94 election cycle, that is responsible for the financial catastrophe of opening decade of the 21st century.
And while President Clinton did sign the repeal of Glass-Steagall into law, he has commented that in hindsight this was the single worst decision he made as President.
And now the right-wing nut community can insert their obligatory puerile Monica Lewinsky comments here.

Yes there are many YouTube clips stating Obama is a liar, Marxist and what so more. There are similar amounts if movies on YouTube claiming the holocaust didn't happen and certainly not in the extend history says. Still after seeing destruction camps with my own eyes I know those YouTube clips are wrong. Propaganda is deceiving, still also now. Yes there is no full fence between Mexico and the USA but that wasn't anticipated. The fence is to defend the weakest spots in our border not to recreate a Berlin wall and iron fence as during the Cold War.
No, since some right wing media declared we are on track for the worst job economy since WWII then this doesn't mean it's true: our nation under Obama is doing much better than under bush when it all collapsed. Yes there is still work to do, but allowing industry to go bankrupt and move to other countries doesn't help: that's the strategy that romneys previous investment company has done for years but as a president he suddenly would create jobs, but without explaining how he does it differently than Obama... Weird

And no, since we have a different opinion than you doesn't mean we will have to move to a 3rd world country. The decline of social democratic parties throughout Europe is nowhere more clearly illustrated than in the June 2009 elections debacle. Across Europe, social democratic parties received only 22 percent of the vote, six percent less than in the 2004 European election. Only 43 percent of the voters turned out, so this means that less than one person in ten voted for socialist party candidates.
Great Britain (the Labour Party had been in power for the past twelve years): Support for Labour dropped to a record low of 16 percent--less than the vote received by the extreme right-wing UK Independence Party
Spain: the ruling Socialist Party lost five percentage points and now has less support than the right-wing People's Party
Germany: the Social Democratic Party (in power for eleven years), received a new low of 21 percent of the total vote
Portugal: ruling Socialist Party support fell from 45 to 27 percent
France: the Socialist Party (in opposition to the leading party for the past seven years) received just 17 percent--a decline of 12 percentage points compared to five years ago
Italy: Democratic Party (successor organization to the Italian Communist Party and other "left" parties) support dropped from 31 percent to 26 percent
g
4:02 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012
More failures:
Denmark: the opposition Social Democrats received 21 percent, losing 12 percentage points from the last election
Dutch Labour Party support fell to 12 percent, half what it had been
Austria: the socialist party support decreased from 33 to 24 percent
"socialist" elements are being rapidly debased or, in some instances, outright destroyed.
Socialism's congenital defect of compromising with capitalism inevitably leads to its ultimate demise.
This is clearly evident in the current capitalist bailout of big banks and financial institutions on the backs of taxpayer-workers worldwide.

In 1942, Stuart Chase, in his book "The Road We Are Traveling" spelled out the system of planning the Fabians had in mind; the interesting thing is to look at that plan in comparison to 2008 America.
1. Strong, centralized government.
2. Powerful Executive at the expense of Congress and the Judicial.
3. Government controlled banking, credit and securities exchange.
4. Government control over employment.
5. Unemployment insurance, old age pensions.
6. Universal medical care, food and housing programs.
7. Access to unlimited government borrowing.
8. A managed monetary system.
9. Government control over foreign trade.
10. Government control over natural energy sources, transportation and agricultural production

citinued from above:
Lenders also have opened the door wider to minorities because of new initiatives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac–the giant federally chartered corporations that play critical, if obscure, roles in the home finance system. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac buy mortgages from lenders and bundle them into securities; that provides lenders the funds to lend more. . .
Another article in the New York TImes from September 11, 2003:
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago. . . .
This reform – and another in 2005/06 – were blocked by Democrats who threatened to filibuster the bill in the Senate.
In that 2003 New York Times article, we find the extent of Republicans’ concerns, and of Democrats’ intransigence:
Fannie Mae, which was previously known as the Federal National Mortgage Association, and Freddie Mac, which was the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, have been criticized by rivals for exerting too much influence over their regulators.
g

More from above:
”The regulator has not only been outmanned, it has been outlobbied,” said Representative Richard H. Baker, the Louisiana Republican who has proposed legislation similar to the administration proposal and who leads a subcommittee that oversees the companies. ”Being underfunded does not explain how a glowing report of Freddie’s operations was released only hours before the managerial upheaval that followed. This is not world-class regulatory work.”

At the most recent elections the Labour Party won and tgey are now the second largest party there. They are working together with the liberal party (who are equivalent to Democrats) who only had 1% more votes. The only equivalent for Republican Party is the Dutch SGP and in some aspects the FPP from Mr. Wilders who together are smaller than the Labour Party alone. So what is your point?
g
11:15 am on Sunday, October 28, 2012
Iyou are right:
the Labour Party made new gains, winning nearly 40 seats? It increased its vote by 9 seats largely because of the collapse of the Green Left (who lost 7 seats, leaving the party with just 3).
When extra cuts were deemed necessary, last May, after the fall of the government, the Green Left and several other parties helped the caretaker government of Liberals and Christian Democrats to carry out a new round of cuts. Earlier on, the Green Left played a key role in supporting a police-training mission in Kunduz, in northern Afghanistan. There were also internal difficulties inside the Green Left organisation that was eagerly reported on by the media.
The failure of the Dutch Socialist Party to make its promised breakthrough is the most startling result of these elections.
Unless the Left and the unions provide a credible alternative, decisively leading resistance to cuts and appealing for working-class unity, the populist, anti-immigrant right can make a come back, posing a real danger to workers’ unity.

I think you TROLLS are the ones who need TRUTH SERUM VERY BADLY!
Why don't you all address the issues that I raised....CAN'T DO IT TRUTHFULLYMCAN YOU?
By the way, WHY does this "BRILLIANT" President OBAMA need soooooo many CZARS? He has 43...... BUSH had only 8....I guess Bush was more intelligent! It cost the taxpayers over 2 BILLION dollars per year just to keep PRESIDENT Obama informed each year. Many of these position duplicate those in his cabinet....BUT I must have forgotten-THIS PRESIDENT does not use CONGRESS....He merely goes around them! In these dire times it sounds quite frivolous to pay for all those extra duplicate positions when so many Americans are out of work, BUT I guess he has to have them as he does not have time to do the work himself with so much campaigning that started in 2008 nonstop, playing golf, going on vacations, and of course...NOT ATTENDING HIS DAILY BRIEFINGS ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS! PERHAPS IF HE HAD ATTENDING THEM BENGHAZI MIGHT HAVE HAD ANOTHER OUTCOME.....on second thought I doubt it.

And President Obama doesn't use Congress? Yet another example of how right-wingers live in the proverbial bubble. Here is link to Mitch McConnell back in 2009 speaking before the Heritage Foundation proclaiming that the #1 priority of Congressional republicans would be to deny President Obama a 2nd term (and no matter the cost to our country):

The truth is It has been the republicans, not President Obama, who have consistently acted like so many petulant children while President Obama has been the grown-up in the room.

Bellair, you still haven't told us why you will vote for Obama. Is it because he is and incompetent Leader and you are to embarrassed to say admit he just doesn't have the qualities for leadership.
Perhaps on of the greatest qualities needed in an effective president is that of leadership.
Great leadership involves the ability to bring people together to work together towards a common vision. As expressed above, Obama's value system, if truthfully told, does not put forth the kind of vision most Americans would want for our future.
Regardless, Barack Obama has not been effective at all in laying out a clear goal or vision for the future of this country.
His administration has been one of haphazardly moving from one issue to the next without regard for the rule of law or the desires of the American public.
g

Bellair, some more reason you won't mention why you won't tell us why you will vote for Obama:
President Barack Obama has all but abandoned mention of his domestic accomplishments in his quest for re-election?
It is almost impossible to claim success when these events have happened:
- Your spending policies have increased the national debt by $5 trillion.
- Your jobs policies and regulations have stifled the American economic engine and kept the unemployment rate above 8 percent.
- Your environmental and energy policies have helped gas prices increase more than 100 percent.
- And your health care bill will cost more than twice your original estimate.
- Bin Laden is dead and Ambassador Chris Stevens was murdered under Obama's watch.

I will be happy to tell you just a few of the reasons why I am voting for Barack Obama, in my own words. I will expect you will do the same as to why you are voting for Romney in your own words.
I am voting for Obama because he cares about all Americans and doesn't write off people like Seniors, disabled vets or those widowed or their children and freeloaders.
I am voting for Obama because he thinks a woman and her doctor should make decisions about her body, not a politician. Romney does not
I am voting for Obama because he believes in marriage equality, partners should be able to visit their spouse in hospitals, and adopt. Romney does not
I am voting for Obama because against the will of the Right he got health care for all Americans, like every other industrialized country in the world
I am voting for Obama because he got health care for 9-11 responders
I am voting for Obama because his plan of stimulus has given our economy a bosst while austerity, wanted by the Reps, has made Europe falter.
I am voting for Obama because under extreme personal attacks by people like you he has remained cool and level headed, and still treats people like you as equal citizens.
I am voting for Obama because I look around and I see house prices rising, gas prices falling, the stock market rebounding.

I am voting for Obama because he wants a smarter military, not tied to old technologies
I am voting for Obama because he has a real energy independence plan, utilizing more than just "drill baby drill' mantra of big political donors.
I am voting for Obama because he saved the American auto industry
I am voting for Obama because he took the chance that cpould have ended his career if gone wrong to get Bin Laden, someone who Bush stopped thinking about in 2002 and Romney wouldn't spend much time on.
I am voting for Obama because he is the best man for the job

g

I am voting for Obama because he saved the American auto industry . Yu are joking aren't you?
The facts:
Nearly two years after the introduction of the path-breaking plug-in hybrid, GM is still losing as much as $49,000 on each Volt it builds, according to estimates provided to Reuters by industry analysts and manufacturing experts.
Cheap Volt lease offers meant to drive more customers to Chevy showrooms this summer may have pushed that loss even higher. There are some Americans paying just $5,050 to drive around for two years in a vehicle that cost as much as $89,000 to produce.
PLANT SHUTDOWN
The lack of interest in the car has prevented GM from coming close to its early, optimistic sales projections. Discounted leases as low as $199 a month helped propel Volt sales in August to 2,831, pushing year-to-date sales to 13,500, well below the 40,000 cars that GM originally had hoped to sell in 2012.

Bellair stated Im voting for Obama because he has a real energy independence plan, utilizing more than just "drill baby drill' mantra of big political donors.
Obama's failed energy policies
By Ed Rogers
President Obama has serious energy problems — ranging from high gasoline prices, which torment consumers and affect the lifestyle of American families; to Solyndra and the like, where green-energy initiatives have failed to the point where they are not just failures but introduce questions of cover-up and deception within the administration. Obama must also deal with division among Democrats with regard to drilling and doing something affirmative to bring down gasoline prices. No one’s talking about it yet, but Obama also appears to be fulfilling his campaign promise to drive up home power bills by aggressively regulating America’s industries that produce electricit
It will be difficult for Obama to escape his positions, which are heavily rooted in ideology. In today’s speech in New Hampshire, he made clear that he knows he has a problem and he doesn’t know what to do.

Obama saved th auto industry?
The truth:
And of the Barack Obama Administration’s puffing up for political and campaign purposes GM’s alleged “recovery” from its bankruptcy.
(A bankruptcy, by the way, that could have just as easily transpired without our $50 billion. But I digress….)
It’s not really much of a recovery when one considers the fact that GM’s thus far $7.4 billion in 2011 profits is greatly fostered and augmented by the Obama Administration’s years-on-end GM federal tax exemption.
A Crony Socialist boon to the tune of as much as $45.4 billion.
(How’s that for federal deficit reduction? Is absolutely nothing at all GM’s “fair share?”)
GM’s is an even less impressive “recovery” when we remember that We the People still own just over 500 million shares of GM stock. On which to break even we need to sell at $53 per – and it is currently trading at around $23.
Which sets up We the Taxpayers for a more than $15 billion loss.
Not quite the GM “success” President Obama is repeatedly touting on the Trail to 2012.

President Obama’s latest clarification-inducing comment came Wednesday, and it’s eyebrow-raising to say the least. Speaking on employment and the economy, the silver-tongued president declared, “Just like we’ve tried [the Republicans'] plan, we’ve tried our plan, and it worked. That’s the difference.”
Moe, who has graphically shown the fallacy of Obama’s “it worked” claim, summed up his rebuttal by declaring that “the only way that you can possibly justify suggesting that Obama’s economic program ‘worked’ is if you define ‘not working’ as ‘the country is now on fire’.”
Try again, Bellair.

Dumb as a box of Rocks
A VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE KIND OF President we have.
A noted psychiatrist was a guest speaker at an academic function whereObama happened to appear. Obama took the opportunity to schmooze the good doctor a bit and asked him a question with which he was most at ease.
'Would you mind telling me, Doctor,' he asked, 'how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?'
'Nothing is easier,' he replied. 'You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track..'
'What sort of question?' asked Obama. Well, you might ask, 'Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?''
Obama thought a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, 'You wouldn't happen to have another example would you? I must confess I don't know much about history.'

But also, by naming each other in degrading terms, history has taught us this is a dangerous development. Best examples are WWII and Rwanda where in both cases while groups were down graded by others: Jews as untermensch and Tutsis as cockroach. We all know that over years of disrespect many innocent lies have been lost. We don't need to steer into that direction, we don't need another civil war, we are neighbors and we agree on so many things and we have a few differences that we can overcome.
I'm even speaking about president Bush jr. with respect by not adding adjectives such as 'stupid', 'useless' or so. Even though he is widely regarded to be a war criminal all over the world he has been the American president, tried to the best of his (limited) knowledge and has been a representative of this country based on a democratic election. Obama would deserve the same respect I not more as he ends wars, strengthens our connections with allies, helped our collapsed economy to stabilize and (slowly) grow and has made the world a better place. I'm wondering if the disrespect for him has any ground in his skin color or because his biological father was a communist and Muslim (who left the family when Obama was 2 years old).

I'm happy that most republicans I know have a lot of respect for others, their opinions and other living creatures, including democrats. These republicans show me that evolution has also taken place in their group, so at least I know that not all of you are living in the Stone Age where survival if the fittest meant who could fight best bit who used his/her mind I improve out country. I am afraid that some people in the forum disregard all science, facts and truth: evolution to them doesn't exist as they don't learn from their and others' mistakes and when they look into the mirror every day they see that they make no progress in life. Disregarding therefore any other change as unwanted or any other improvement as impossible is a logical conclusion. But over millions of years we have evolved from money's into humans and over the last 300-400 years this place has improved a lot. We collectively have this power and I try I choose to be on the good side of history. Maybe I turn out to be wrong inThe End but the improvements I've seen under Obama strengthen me in my support for him.

On topic:
Thinking along some of the sane lines of thought as g and patriot display above, has Obama spend way too much money to be informed. Wouldn't it be great if president Bush has done that during his presidency. We would then maybe have avoided the worst economic crisis in decades and maybe could have prevented that many of our friends, family members and neighbors were killed at 9/11. Knowledge is power, maybe even worth more that military power. Restoring global friendships and bonds has made the world a safer place now thanks to Obama. An een larger army and another ground war that kills our troops on foreign soil in a country that doesn't even want our troop there has worsened the respect for our nation world wide and has not at all contributed in safety as disrespect for our values and way of life has fueled new groups of radicals!
Can any if the republicans explain to me why you generally are so picky in what happens with your tax money but when it comes to the army then suddenly the sky the limit is? For most politician I know why: they all personally gain from the weapon industry, but all of you normal hard working people out there, why if we have the strongest army inThe world, do we need more an more and more and why is this worth our tax money?

Special thanks to g who did research (Wikipedia) on Dutch elections. Unfortunately you still didn't make a point with it. But I guess we are all not at the least interested in some lecture on Dutch politics as we speak about the elections here, next week. And to make a link from the Dutch and many other European leaders: the majority is outspoken supporting Obama's reelection as they see a better partner in the democratic leadership rather than switching to the republican contestant. In order for the USA to grow an stabilize its economy European support is vital and with a few new governments installed in European nations such as Italy, france, Netherlands who all prefer Obama over Romney it seems that your notes of bringing in Europe as a topic is counter productive to your own wishes.

Oh, yeah, it was Bush and Cheney, so 3,000 lives don't count because they are Republican. But to attack a Democratic President in the midst of an election, Republicans are all over the death of 4 people. Not that those people don't count, but it is the height of hypocrisy to seize on this as an attack, when the same people wanted to protect Bush/Cheney over 9/11.

Sad thing is, he probably already is dependent on the government and just won't admit it.

I am not your friend..I am very SELECTIVE ABOUT FRIENDS.
What does Tax have to do with One's CHOICE of PRESIDENT? You are off on trivial matters once again.
THE ANSWERS ARE: FREEDOM! THE CONSTITUION! THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE RULE OF LAW!
Being a true Patriot, UNLIKE YOU! I am not diverted by inconsequential minutia!

WHY DON'T YOU GO AND VISIT OR DECIDE TO RESIDE IN SO MANY OF THOSE FOREIGN COUNTRIES THAT LOVE COMRADE OBAMA! I wonder if they would have a mutual affection for you. PERHAPS YOU MIGHT GET STONED! OR EVEN WORSE.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU GO.....Think TWICE!! IF YOU CAN!
After all OBAMA has been receiving a lot of MONEY in CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS from these COUNTRIES WHICH I MIGHT ADD is ILLEGIAL...but that doesn't STOP OLD SHAMELESS OBUMMER.....DOES IT? NOT A CHANCE?
I am old enough to know that you are a BUBBLE BRAIN!
I THINK A YOUNG CHILD WOULD ALSO RECOGNIZE YOU FOR THAT!

Patriot you sound like an out of touch ill informed Republican. We live in a country right now where a lot of billionaires and millionaires have invested a lot in oil that is why we Republicans are refusing to budge and look at alternative means to run our cars, trucks etc.
We now hear the garbage Republicans say we need oil, we go to war in the middle east and people like YOU who preach your anti muslim speeches and others with their video clips when Amerian soldiers are in these muslim lands get killed daily.
So continue to get more Republicans in office who for the sake of oil will sacrifice thousands and thousands of American military lives to restore peace in the land of weapons of mass destruction, and other nearby territories, and tell us we can save a trillion here but lose 3 trillion dollars in wars and lands we are occupying right now since 2003.
You make no sense, and this is why we need to remove Republicans from office. We leave now and train the troops to fight their wars in their own countries. There will always be more suicide bombers coming out and entering the military forces over there then turning guns on Americans lives. We need to refocus, and stop letting billionaires bribe people you and your friends you help elected in congress to send our military men abroad.

Goo morning. Thank you, Patriot for assuming I'm not a true patriot, oh no stating as if a fact even and creating the rules if what matters to me (as I am not allowed to decide on that, as you almighty patriot make the rules). You know me so well that it almost seems you are my best friend. But since you only have 3 friends, your mirror image, Romney and Ryan and since you misspellied my name it is clear we aren't friends...
I wish you good luck in life and will ignore you from now on like the whole world around you obviously is doing as well. One friendly advice: get treatment.
Thank you Nancy, you are right and much smarter than me. I should have stopped before as it is pointless. Be safe as well, hopefully it is not as bad as we fear!

Hey, Stefan! Believe me, I'm not smarter than you, I've just been suckered in to so many web discussions with people of dubious character that they're a little easier for me to spot. Caps are a major tipoff, as are insults. They may be bored teens, drunks, lonely or angry adults, who knows? One thing all trolls have in common, however, is their relentlessness. That alone tells you that they're pretty much terrified of being left alone.
Anyhoo....I'm in an apartment building on fairly high ground in Morristown, so flooding won't be an issue, but I'm pretty sure that a power outage is inevitable. Wouldn't be such a big deal except for the fridge! I hope you're in good shape at home as well.
And if I may...Obama 2012. :)

Stefan,
"Goo"morning to you also. I guess you have retrogressed a bit.
Ignore me.....that is fine, but you cannot ignore the truth that I expressed in any of my comments. You can't go on fabricating fairytales about Obama and expect that someone is not going to challenge you, your horde of trolls, or rake you over the coals for it.
As for Nancy Duggan....SHE IS A POMPOUS PINHEAD!
