If you pick up The New York Times or New York Daily News tomorrow, August 30, take a very close look through the ads.

You may see a familiar face — particularly if you've had any relationship with Clinton Elementary School during the past five years.

Clinton Principal Patricia (Patty) O'Neill — a cancer survivor — is featured in a new advertisement for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In the ad, a defiant O'Neill holds up a composition notebook with this message: "Cancer, you failed."

Besides the Times and the Daily News, the ad is currently running in New York Magazine and will be seen shortly in many New Jersey publications as well as Vanity Fair and the Wall Street Journal. Keith Michon, marking manager from MSKCC, sent O'Neill this note: "These ads are wonderful and we have you to thank. Best wishes for the upcoming new school year."
