Police Apprehend Three Young Trespassers
The following information was provided by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Two young Irvington residents were charged with trespassing on Friday, while their companion faced even further charges, during an arrest that spanned two towns.
At around 8:30 p.m., South Orange Police responded to a call on Kenneth Terrace about three teens who had been hanging out in a resident’s rear yard. Officers found Shaquan Jones, 18, and Rashon Spruill, 20, in the yard and placed them under arrest.
A 16-year-old Irvington resident took off during the arrest, fleeing for several blocks. The resident weaved in and out of numerous residents’ yards before being apprehended in Maplewood in the area of Edgewood Terrace. Maplewood police assisted South Orange with the capture of the youth, who now faces charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
