Police Make Arrest in Burglary to Vehicle; Two Other Cars Stolen

The following arrest information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Earlier this month, Maplewood Police arrested an Irvington man after he allegedly attempted to burglarize a car on Brookwood Drive.

Officers responded to a house on Brookwood Drive on Dec. 16 on a report of a burglary to a vehicle. The owner of the car had seen an man in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. The man had fled towards Laurel Avenue. Based on a description, located and stopped Ebon Hodge, 23, of Irvington, NJ within minutes. Hodge was subsequently positively identified and arrested on charges of Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools.

Also on Dec. 16, a Hillcrest Road resident reported that his 2007 Mitsubishi had been stolen. He said it had happened sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 9:00 a.m. on Dec. 15.

On December 20, a Jacoby Street resident reported that her 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been stolen while it was warming up in her driveway. She said she had seen a black man, approximately 18 years old, wearing a black hat and a black pea coat get in the vehicle and drive it toward Boyden Avenue in the direction of Irvington.
