Afternoon Robbery on Jacoby on Monday
The following information was provided by Sgt. Dean Naddeo of the Maplewood Police Department.
A New Brunswick man reported that he was robbed in the area of Schaeffer Rd. and Jacoby Street in Maplewood on Dec. 19.
The man told Maplewood Police that he was walking along Jacoby Street at approximately 4 p.m. when another man approached him and pulled a tee-shirt up over his face and placed a handgun to his chest. The man told his victim, “Where’s it at? Give it up,” before removing $350 from the victim’s pants pockets.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 33 years old, 6’1” tall, with a goatee, and wearing sunglasses, a brown jacket, and a black hooded sweatshirt under the jacket.

Of course...one man's word against another. Where were the witnesses? Did you ever think that the accuser could be a lying thief!

The fact that the police released information about this incident says that the authorities found this man's account credible. This is why Patch never reports on crime without touching base with police. They're the experts. Also, there are consequences for those who are found to make false reports.

Police experts???? HA, in what? Actually the authorities of this town tend to be corrupt and I wouldn't believe anything they say. They put words into peoples mouths and try to get them to confess to things they were never party to. Then they feel this sense of pride in arresting people who are technically innocent until proven guilty. They treat everyone like a criminals...and feel the need to intimidate everyone. It disgusts me that there is no regard for personal property and they can so easily be bamboozled by one criminal pointing the finger at another criminal.
