Seth Boyden Fifth Graders Perform Junior Version of High School Musical
Fifth grade students perform popular play based on Disney movie.
In what has become a yearly tradition, Seth Boyden’s fifth graders took to the stage as they sang, danced and strutted their stuff in the junior version of High School Musical. The musical, which is based on the popular Disney movie, featured well-known songs such as “Stick to the Status Quo,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” and “Bop to the Top.”
Nearly the whole fifth grade class participated either as performers or crew. Standout performances included Kamille Scipio and Gibson Desilmar as Gabriella and Troy, Mae Ertl and Hans Brown as Sharpay and Ryan, Thea O’Hea and Dinio Cijuste as Ms. Darbus and Coach Bolton, and Holly Hunking as composer and pianist Kelsi Nielson.
The supporting cast of cheerleaders, jocks, brainiacs and skaters provided an excellent high energy performance from the opening cheer to the whole cast finale of “We’re All in this Together.”
Direction was provided by Jensym Oertel with musical direction by Dave Modero. Recent Seth Boyden alum Delainey Fuschetto returned as stage manager. Parent Danna Hunking coordinated the production.
Past Seth Boyden fifth grade productions have included junior productions of Suessical, Annie and The Music Man.
