Frugal and fashion meet at Other Mothers. The Irvington Avenue resale store for kids has been reorganized and readied for back-to-school shoppers. While the store has equipment, toys, books and even costumes, a secret specialty of Other Mothers is the large collection of Our Lady of Sorrows school uniforms sold at a fraction of regular retail.

"I love that my kids wear school uniforms," says mother Kathy Flynn. "It's simple. And I really love that I can buy the uniforms nearby, where they can try them on, and even at the last minute."  Flynn purchased jumpers and physical education sweatpants and shirts, she said.

Other Mothers also has boots, jackets and even Halloween costumes ready for the frugal parent who plans ahead.

The store hosted a "Christmas in July" charity event, where customer drop-offs could be donated to a number of local charities.
