Strawberry Fields Is Wide Open!

It's a soft opening for this soft-serve yogurt shop.

Fans of sweet flavors rejoice: you’ve got another choice in town to tame your munchies and cold confection cravings.

quietly opened yesterday to little fanfare but, by the looks of the turnout today, many new fans. “It’s great to have another option to head to for a snack or desert,” said Kim Rosen, accompanied by her two wee yogurt aficionados – and twins – Jason and Rachel:

“I like the gummy bears best,” said Rachel, adorable mouth happily brimming with the fruits of her self-serve selections. “I like it, too,” concurred her fraternal cohort, and fellow four-year old, Jason.

“We wanted a soft opening so that we could get used to the registers and work out any kinks,” said , one half of the two couples who own the venture. “So far the response has been great.” His wife, Robin was also on hand to make sure the operation continued to run as sweet and smoothly as the yogurt.

"Between the two families behind the business we have five daughters between us – they all put in their two cents when it came to flavors and music,” shared Robin (Ann and Garry Harris are the other owners). “So we had a pretty good idea of what our target audience wanted!”

Judging from the turnout today – and the smiles on the yogurt eating faces - filling the shop and spilling out onto the street, they’ve hit their mark. Look for a ribbon-cutting Grand Opening on Saturday, August 20th as well as fun daily promotions like win a free yogurt if you hit the ‘weight of the day’ and a punch card incentive for 'buy eight get one free'.

The look of the shop is sleek, hip, cool and clean. The music is multi-generational mod and the treats are sold by the ounce (.49 cents per).

So far I have to say, I’m all for ‘Strawberry Fields' FOREVER – I just hope they never rotate my favorite flavor out: Plain Tart – it’s plain addictive!
