Tina Kelley Reading Poetry Tonight, 8pm!

If a picture paints a thousand words then this woman's words paint about a zillion pictures.

Tina Kelley is joining some other talented artists at tonight's Eclectic Chaos: Kinetic, Recycled, and Art Show & Auction at the Ethical Culture Society. The event sounds great enough already, but the chance to hear Maplewoodian Tina read her work makes it even better.

Here's a little more about Ms. Kelley from the schedule of tonight's event:

Tina Kelley is on the staff of Covenant House, where she is co-writing a book of profiles of homeless teenagers. She was a reporter at The New York Times for ten years, and ran The Local blog for Maplewood, Millburn and South Orange. She also worked at the Seattle Times and Philadelphia Inquirer. Her first book of poems, The Gospel of Galore, (Word Press, 2003) won a Washington State Book Award, and she won a fraction of a Pulitzer Prize for being a part of theTimes' coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks, and wrote 121 "Portraits of Grief," short descriptions of the victims.
