He's writes a column on small businesses for the Wall Street Journal, and he's the host of the business make-over segment on MSNBC's Your Business. Last but not least, he'll be speaking at the in Maplewood on Wednesday, October 12 at 9:30 am.

But wait. While we are bedazzled by Michalowicz's credentials and celebrity — what's with the Toilet Paper moniker?

Here's what Mike told Blogtrepeneur.com:

So, what my book is about, is all about the real story of entrepreneurship, and the analogy, the Toilet Paper Entrepreneurs, kind of like when you’re in the restroom and you look over and there’s just three sheets. And you’re like, oh my god. Oh my god, why didn’t I look earlier?

And what happens in that moment, is we don’t give up, we don’t say, I’m going to sit here for the rest of my life, we root through the garbage can, we find some stuff there that may help us out.

Wow. And kinda, "yuck." But, hey, the guys a bazillionaire, so who are we to argue?

Caroline Gosselin and Yasmeen Anderson of SOMA B.I.G. are hugely excited that they've been able to attract a big name like Michalowicz to South Orange and Maplewood. Their chapter of B.I.G. — a national networking organization for business women — has taken off in just a few short months. Already, more than 100 have registered for the Toilet Paper event on October 12 and both the Maplewood and South Orange Chambers of Commerce will have tables at the event.

"This is a women's organization," said Gosselin, "but we felt that Mike was such a fantastic and motivational speaker that we felt we had to share this with the whole business community. We hope everyone comes away recharged and with concrete ideas to help grow their business."

The event is $10 at the door (men are welcome!) or free to SOMA B.I.G. members. Check in is at 9 a.m. and the program starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. (running until 11:30). There are 10 more seats available!
