Tonight: Bea Miller at "Girl Be Heard" in NYC
Maplewood "X-Factor" teen performs at The Cutting Room for launch of girl empowerment group.
Beatrice Miller, the Maplewood middle schooler who won America's hearts as a contestant on The X-Factor last fall, will perform tonight at The Cutting Room in New York City at 6 p.m.
Miller will join host Nigel Barker for the launch of "Girl Be Heard," a non-profit organization that uses theater as a vehicle to empower young women to be leaders and raises awareness of issues affecting girls.
Previously known as Project Girl Performance Collective, the organization has changed its name and is rebranding to reflect its evolution from a local, grassroots group to a global movement, according to a press release. Miller is an alumnus of the group.
The Cutting Room is located at 44 East 32nd Street. The event is open to the public.
