Week of activities will culminate in Wellness Fair in Memorial Park on October 13.
More than 30 different local businesses, organizations and experts throughout Maplewood will offer free open houses, classes, services and demonstrations on topics in health, nutrition, exercise and finance during the township's Wellness Week from October 8 - 13.
Part of Maplewood Loves Wellness, a new township-wide community awareness program, the action-packed week will culminate with a Wellness Fair in Memorial Park in Maplewood on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. , and a 5K run/walk to support the Maplewood Volunteer First Aid Squad.
Maplewood is partnering with Barnabas Health-Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the New Jersey Mayors’ Wellness Campaign on the initiative.
Events during the week range from free chair massages, kickboxing classes, cooking demos, meditation lessons and information on diabetes, to financial wellness for women, children's fitness, advice on long term care and how to cope with separation and divorce.
