In just less than a week it will be St. Patrick's Day - a day filled with good cheer, good food and festivities.
As we don our green to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland, and to stir up a bit of revelry during the Lenten season, there are lots of wonderful places to do that here in Essex County.
Where will you be going for corned beef and cabbage or a draught of Guinness? Do you prefer one of Maplewood's great homey Irish pub? A trek to the city for the big parade? Or a quiet night at home? (And keep in mind, that St. Patrick's Day is a religious feast -- so a trip to church as well is not out of the question!)
Readers, we're counting on you to tell us your favorite place to show off your shamrock and enjoy your holiday celebration. You've got until Friday to give us your choice of the best place to go on St. Patrick's Day.
But one thing seems certain - no matter where you go, you're sure to have a good time. So put on your Irish sweater, dust off your "Kiss me, I'm Irish" button, and crank up "Danny Boy."
We'll announce the winners on Friday. Be sure to tell your friends and family to vote!
