This is a soft launch of our robotics school here in South Orange. For now we are only offering an Introduction to Robotics class for 8 students from 3rd to 5th grade. Let us know what you think and what your needs/wants are. We can offer additional classes as needed. You can check us out at www.robotrevolution.net.
If you have any questions you can reach me at Chris@robotrevolution.net

Do you plan to have classes for adults?

No, this is a kids program. (I just happen to be an old kid!) However, we have thought about giving a class for adults mentoring/coaching FLL teams. That will probably happen next Spring / end of school year if there is a demand for it. As the robotics teams here in South Orange/Maplewood mature there are other competitions for Middle School students that go beyond Lego and NXT-G. We're pretty sure that parentsand kids will probably need help with some of that.

Is this program at all related to the Robotics Club and curriculum being introduced at Columbia High School? Does the program benefit and/or add value to the public school program in any way?
Thanks,

This is entirely seperate from the robotics course being introduced at CHS. This is an after school program, and although we do empahisize the use of math and science we want this to be a place for fun exploration of robotics and the math and science it exposes our kids to. It is directly relavent to the Robotics Clubs both FLL and FTC. We do not teach to those events, but the skills in building, understanding and programming will make the children able to compete at a higher level. With the Middle school kids we teach them Robot C enabling them to contribute to the Robotics Club in CHS. We do intend to extend this program to high school kids, but the demand for that is not there yet.
