    Bunny's is a family-run business that was started over 80 years ago. The space was being used as a candy store whenMore current owner Leslie Pogany's grandmother opened the restaurant and took out the first liquor license in South Orange after the end of Prohibition.

    It's a family-oriented restaurant (with sizable crowds after youth soccer games and for Our Lady of Sorrows night on Tuesdays), but there's also a robust bar and Happy Hour scene. Take your pick from booths, bar or the tables. In the summer, you can sit in the garden.

    Happy hour is from 4pm to 5pm; there's free pizza and specials on pitchers of beer. Come watch one of the 18 TV's, every sporting game is usually on one.

    There's a side room that can accommodate private parties of 25 to 30. Delivery is available daily from 4pm to 9pm.

    You may have an extremely difficult time choosing which barbeque (churrasco) to order: beef, chicken, pork or ribs. The grilled seafood choices are equally enticing—try the codfish "lagareiro" or "bras" style. Another favorite is the seafood paelha. 

    House specials include carne de porco alentejana (pork cubes with clams and potatoes) and picanha a brasileria (top sirloin, Brazilan style), one among many steak choices. For the courageous, there's dobrada a moda do Porto (tripe), roasted goat and suckling pig.

    Business owners in the area often stop by to pick up a pork or chicken sandwich for lunch.

    This half block of Springfield Avenue is "all in the family." Churrasco is owned by a sister and brother and their spouses, while a nephew owns the Liquor Cabinet two doors down—that's where you can get your Portuguese wine. "The wives take care of business here" and "husbands help out," one family member explains.

    The charming, evocative decor (check out the pieces on the wall) transports you to a seaside cafe, especially on Saturday night, when a traditional guitarist provides entertainment. Churrasco is a favorite with Portuguese families in the area. The chef is from the southern part of Portugal. 

    Churrasco has an outdoor patio and is available for parties. Reservations are suggested for Friday and Saturday nights. Delivery service goes to Maplewood, South Orange, Millburn and Union.

    Coda Kitchen & Bar, formerly of Springfield Avenue, moved to Maplewood Village as Indigo Kitchen & Bar backMore in 2009, adding a new zest to Maplewood's downtown. Owners Lance and Bradley, despite the location switch, still serve their classic Kansas City barbecue that they have offered since 2002.

    Coda Kitchen & Bar features an extra-large bar, which serves cocktails and a wide menu of barbequed recipes. Some of the favorites on the menu include grilled short rib, red velvet cake, beef brisket and honey barbecue wings.

    The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and also serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
