The Maplewood Rotary Club is hosting its 13th Annual Affair of the Heart Dinner/Dance. This is one of our Club's three major fundraisers and brings together about 200 guests; Rotarians, local supporters, family and friends to celebrate the joys of being a part of such an amazing community and support our Gift of Life programs. We hope you will join us for a wonderful cocktail hour, live and silent auctions, sumptuous buffet dinner and live entertainment … the dance floor is always packed!
This year we will be honoring Beth Daugherty with our Citizenship Award. This award is given to an individual who lives by the Rotary International motto "Service Above Self"… a person who goes above and beyond in their personal efforts to make Maplewood and the surrounding communities a better place to live.
Proceeds from the evening primarily go to support the club's involvement in the district's Gift of Life Program. Gift of Life Inc., NJ is a regional charity operated solely by volunteer Rotarians from District 7470. It organizes, sponsors and hosts children from under developed countries that are in dire need of life saving heart operations. The surgeries are done at hospitals in the United States, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka and through medical missions abroad to countries such as Belarus, the Dominican Republic, among others.
2010 also marks the 80th anniversary of our Rotary Club, so please come out and join us for some fun and support this wonderful program.

More About Woman's Club of Maplewood
Woman's Club has been a Maplewood institution since 1916 with a simple goal -- "to bring women together for mutual help, fellowship and service." The club has several groups that meet during the day or after work and choose worthy projects to pursue. They also have regular fundraisers, including a flea market and bazaar.
The club building includes a spacious auditorium with a stage, which is used for community and social events.
