Mission Accomplished! Children's lives saved....
Maplewood Rotary Club's Annual Affair of Heart Gala another success. This years mission has been completed. Much gratitude for all our supporters.
The Maplewood Rotary Club again sends its sincerest Thanks to everyone who supported our annual Affair of the Heart fundraiser last April; especially all the hard working people at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, our principal event sponsor.
Proceeds from the Affair of the Heart dinner were dedicated to our club’s involvement in Rotary’s Gift of Life program, which provides critical heart surgery for children from developing countries around the world. With your help, our club was the sole sponsor of a medical mission to Kemerovo, Siberia, arranged by the International Children’s Heart Foundation (ICHF) headquartered in Memphis, TN.
The director of ICHF, Dr. Bill Novick, recently delivered our club a heart-warming update to share the great success of their recent mission. Novick noted, “Thirteen precious lives were saved during the two-week mission by Dr. Boris Vingradsky’s team from Toledo, OH. Two very difficult heart surgeries were performed and they were and the first-of-their-kind in Siberia. All these children would have perished without your help.”

Maplewood Rotary Club’s Gift of Life Co-chairperson Rick Porter said, “The sincere gratitude we feel for these doctors, their teams of amazing medical professionals and for the support we receive from our communities, is impossible to convey in words. We are sure, however, of one thing- nothing comes close to the joy you receive from helping a child!”
