Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Maplewood Planting Community Garden As Part Of Companywide "Cares Days" Event
On Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., sales associates affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Maplewood will be planting vegetables in the raised beds of the community garden located at The Elks Club on 220 Prospect Street in South Orange, across the street from Our Lady of Sorrows. The produce grown at the garden is donated to the food banks run by Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange and St. Joseph's Church in Maplewood. Between the two sites, approximately 200 bags of groceries are handed out each week.
“We are happy to take part in the fight against hunger that exists in our community,” said Lorraine Labonne-Storch, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares ambassador at the company’s Maplewood office. “The recipients of the food donated by the food banks will be getting fresh vegetables to supplement their diet, which typically consists of canned and processed foods.”
“I take great pride in all the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates who give back to their communities consistently throughout the year. Cares Days gives us an opportunity to work together as an entire company and make a large, positive impact across the entire region,” said Hal Maxwell, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y.
