SOUTH MOUNTAIN YMCA OFFERS SPRING TRAVEL BASKETBALL SEASON FOR CHILDREN IN 4TH AND 5TH GRADES

The South Mountain YMCA located at 13 Jefferson Avenue in Maplewood is kicking off its Spring Travel Basketball Season with team tryouts scheduled for children in 4th and 5th grades on March 10th and March 11th. The season runs until June 15th.   

NEW this Spring:   The Y Travel Teams will be joining the Spring Youth League at Hoop Heaven in Whippany. There will be one game per week in Whippany and 2 practices per week at the Y. Games could be Monday - Thursday from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm, or all day on Saturday. 

The Grade 4 Team is coached by Sean La Con.  Tryouts for children in 4th Grade and born on or after September 1, 2003 and are a minimum of 9 years old can tryout on March 10th from 7:30 pm  - 9:00 pm and on March 16th from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in the YMCA Gym.  Birth Certificate copies are required for tryouts.  Practices will be held on Sunday, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm and Monday, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm in the gym.

The Grade 5 Team is coached by Rich Quadrini.  Tryouts for children in 5th Grade and born on or after September 1, 2002 and are a minimum of 10 years old can tryout on March 11th from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm and on March 16th from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm in the YMCA Gym.  Birth Certificate copies are required for tryouts.  Practices will be held on Sunday, 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm and Tuesday, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm in the gym.
