'Camplified': Girl Scouts Host Summer Music Festival at South Mountain

The event is rain or shine next weekend at Camp Oval.

Girl Scout cookies aren't the only reason to love your area troop. The Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey is bringing an all-out bash to the community for the summer with its concert tour "Camplified."

The Summer Music Festival is hitting Maplewood on Saturday, July 19 at Camp Oval in South Mountain Reservation from noon to 5 p.m. The festival will bring burgeoning bands such as Seconds Apart, Bad Seed Rising, Go Down Moses and 5 Angels to the stage.

The festival isn't just about music as there will be hands-on activities suitable for families before the concert from a scavenger hunt, carnival games, music clinics and a manicure camp spa.

Prizes will be awarded to some attendees, and everyone will get the chance to meet the artists at the festival following the show.

“Girl Scouting is more than cookies, camping and crafts; and our family music festival is a great opportunity for girls and their families to experience what Girl Scouting has to offer together,” GSHNJ CEO Patricia Carroll said.

Tickets are $8 if purchased by next Friday and $10 at the door. The event will be rain or shine. For more information and ticket, interested persons may visit the GSHNJ website.
