Goodbye, and Thank You, Maplewood and South Orange

Your local editor signs off.

After one year, Tuesday is my last day as Local Editor of Maplewood and South Orange Patches. It has been an exciting, enlightening, absorbing time – sometimes frustrating, often all-consuming and frequently a whole lot of fun.

I am moving on to focus on some writing projects that I put on hold when I plunged into the hyperlocal news world a few years ago. Some of my extremely talented and highly able colleagues will be covering the sites until a replacement is found. In the meantime, please contact Senior Regional Editor Mike Pignataro (mike@patch.com) with any questions, tips or story ideas.

I have enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful people in Maplewood and South Orange, my “hometowns.” I’ve learned much about the towns that I didn’t know from simply living in both for a total of 17 years. Mostly, I’ve come to appreciate even more how truly special and unique Maplewood and South Orange are. We are all lucky to call these places home.

Of course, I will still see many of you -- the readers, bloggers, business owners, hardworking township employees, dedicated public officials and community members who made my job a joy -- around town.  I just won’t be asking (quite) as many nosy questions. Also, please feel free to stay in touch. My email is maynardparisi@gmail.com

Thank you for allowing Patch to become a part of your lives and our communities.
